i really liked the "diva" storyline between the 4 kids, it was a nice way of remembering 4x1, and i absolutely loved blaine and tina's solos but i don't get why brittany and unique didn't get one? i think they would have both killed it too! also, i'm always so so happy to see finn teaching the glee club, i literally want to cry! nutbush had the be my favorite naya performance! hairography at its best (hey season 1)! season 4 has some of the best songs imo

I’ve always liked Emma because I relate to her in that I also have OCD, not as severe or stereotypical as hers but close. When she was having a panic attack, that part of the scene was so impactful to me. I thought the show was trying to show how her OCD is effecting her and causing her to panic. But then Finn kissed her and that moment ruined the entire scene. It could’ve just been an impactful moment where they could’ve just had Finn calm her down and talk to her about her anxiety. The show really just wanted an excuse to create random drama and it’s so aggravating to see. Honestly it knocked the episode down so much. Absolutely agree with everything you said about the episode by the way, season 4 is crazy and so odd but it has it’s moments

But this episode also really shows the general problem with the show, here shown with Tina's storyline. The writers simply don't seem to care a lot about their characters, at least less than the audience, which is not how it should be. Diva week would have been the perfect opportunity for her to start fresh and become the performer she wanted to be last year. It would have been so easy to make this an empowering storyline for her. But no, this whole Blaine storyline just made her seem stupid. But, Santana in New York, yay!

2021-09-25 21:23:51 +0000 UTCI know I have been bitching about Tina's character for awhile now, but this episode brings it all to a head. What in the world was that scene? Like, what a major violation Tina did when Blaine was literally unconscious. It was a very creepy moment, and I have no idea why the Glee writers would even go there. The weird confession would have been enough, but they took it too far, as they always do, and made her character intolerable. The complete character assassination that has happened is awful and I will never let it go as long as I live. It also made no sense that she got mad at Blaine... Like, I could get it if she was maybe feeling like she wasn't being appreciated by him, but he literally thanked her and hyped her up every chance he got. Just look at him during "Hung Up" Even after she yelled at him for seemingly no reason, he was still supportive and in awe of her, although very confused at how she was coming at him. So, she's literally mad at him,,, for not being in love with her??? So gross and weird. "No one deserved to win this week more than you..." Well, actually, Blaine, I think YOU deserved to win, and I will yell it from the rooftops to this day. Now, Blaine has to act like he's in the wrong and everyone has to coddle Tina??? Dislike lol And Finn kissing Emma is the biggest eyeroll for me... Because, literally why? Was that necessary? It doesn't really make any sense either. At least the music was strong. Santana's Nutbush City Limits and Blaine's Don't Stop Me Now are two of my all-time favorite covers. "Hung Up" wasn't a motivated song AT ALL, but the performance itself was good. I actually preferred Rachel on Bring Him Home because I thought her voice is just more well suited to the song (same as Defying Gravity, regardless of whether or not Kurt hit the note), but I understand why we needed it for the story. I will never be against knocking Rachel down a few pegs.

2021-09-25 21:03:19 +0000 UTCOne of the worst things about season 4 is the writing for Tina. She is an original character. We are supposed to root and care about her but the writing for the character makes you dread her being on screen.

2021-09-25 19:28:26 +0000 UTCThey truly butchered Tina's character, but nobody can deny that Tina slayed Hung Up! Santana being a highlight of this episode <3

2021-09-25 19:25:23 +0000 UTCWhen Emma was having a panic attack I think Finn was just trying to get her to calm down I heard that kissing is actually a way to stop panic attacks because it brings the person out of it back to reality. Or something like that. 1 Knowing that the actress for Emma is only a few years older than Cory also helped~

2021-09-25 18:47:07 +0000 UTCThis episode is such a mess and some great parts as well. This episode really showed the difference between Sam and Santana for Brittany. Sam treats Brittany like an innocent kid thats funny and just sunshine while Santana knows how smart Brittany is. While I know Brittany didn't date Sam to get at Santana, that was the reason she dated Artie so Sam really has no idea who Brittany really is.

2021-09-25 18:42:41 +0000 UTCFor Seasons 4-6 some of the best episodes are when the focus is on the original characters because we know their backstory already. It shouldn't have been like that but it feels like we don't get real in-depth focus on the new characters. For me this is probably my favorite episode of Season 4 because a major focus is on reintroducing Santana into the show after we've only seen her in a few episodes this season. I really enjoyed all the covers Naya did this episode ("Nutbush City Limits" is my favorite solo that Naya did on the show). I won't spoil future scenes but since the last scene essentially gives away that Santana is moving in with Kurt and Rachel to me seeing that new dynamic between the 3 of them is a highlight of the second half of Season 4. Like you mentioned the 2 things I hate about this episode is Tina forcing herself on Blaine (They ruined Tina's character in Season 4) and then the Emma and Finn kiss (that felt like it came out of nowhere).

2021-09-25 18:19:31 +0000 UTCThe writers having Santana move to NYC was the best decision they’ve made the whole season. In my opinion her being there lifts this season up a lot and creates a lot of good storylines. The next episode is the BEST episode they’ve made since season 3, in my opinion again. Very excited for that😌 A big surprise happens too

2021-09-25 17:57:43 +0000 UTCI don't think I can put into words how much I hate what they have done to Tina. Rewatching it makes me frustrated all over again. Also Finn kissing Emma?! Why?! That still literally makes zero sense to me. That being said I was super excited when I realized that Santana was going to moving to New York with Rachel and Kurt.
