I don’t think Haley likes Nathan. She’s not the kind of person who would like someone for being mean, especially to their best friend, just cuz they’re hot. She wants to help Nathan cuz she’s a good person and she felt bad for not helping him when he clearly needed it. And yeah she should have told Luke but he would have just reacted badly and she didn’t wanna make things worse. Not a great decision but understandable

2021-04-19 03:37:50 +0000 UTCWow - I forgot how SLOW this show starts. I am able to enjoy this a lot because I fell in love with the characters when I was in high school. But watching it now, yeah, the show is moving sort of slow - it totally does pick up though! Karen introduced Sheri as Tim's mom (Nathan's best friend) at the Burning Boat festival. Nathan's intentions were very unclear to me at this point. He isn't failing on purpose - he truly is just bad at school, but also, there MUST be another tutor he could work with. He's targeting Haley for a reason.

Luke would not want her to tutor Nathan and would not care (like he said) about what Nathan does to him, but Haley does. It's pretty simple really. - She makes the right decision here for many reasons and it's going to change a lot of dynamics in the show. Her decision to tutor Nathan actually changes so many things in the lives of so many people in the show (now that I really think about it) - remember that because you will see just how much. :D

2021-04-16 19:18:33 +0000 UTCNathan isn't pretending to get bad grades. He just decided to use that to get to Hayley. His grades probably got worse recently with Lucas now threatening his place (in Nathan's eyes) and his Dad breathing down his neck. So if he doesn't get his grades up then he could be kicked off the team. Hayley would never just let Nathan fail and it not bother her. She is too nice of a person for that. So your suggestion about letting him fail and get kicked off the team is something that would deeply bother Hayley. As far as her not telling Lucas...she is a teen girl and is in a weird place. She KNOWS Lucas wouldn't like her fighting his battles for him. She knows that Lucas would be pissed if he found out Hayley has helping Nathan to get him to leave Lucas alone. She decides keeping it from his is in his best interests because she really thinks that Nathan will listen and leave Lucas alone if she helps him. Remember...she's been hearing about Lucas being hazed the whole episode and is really annoyed about it and worried for him. Plus, Nathan seems to really need her help and Karen even told her there might be something there worth saving. You're also right in that Hayley is the shy, quiet girl that doesn't get a lot of attention from guys.

Lol I love the way you trying to predict but you should keep in mind this show doesn't necessarily take the "usual" directions that other teen dramas take. Also I don't think Nathan is pretending to get bad grades.. I don't remember everything but I am pretty sure my mans just isn't smart xD. And yeah that wasn't Nathan's mom, pretty sure it's Tim's mom. Nathan's mom isn't really around in the first few episodes because she is on business trips as Nathan mentioned before. She will come around tho and other fun times may come 😅

2021-04-16 09:21:04 +0000 UTCI love your predictions and how many of them are the route that usual teen dramas would go, but this one just won't. but I love it though and I think you're gonna love what's to come ;) I think the first couple of episodes are a bit slow, but it really takes off after that and gives you more character insight and just more reason for what they do.

Also y’all may know already but that wasn’t Nathan’s mom, pretty sure it was Tim’s which is Nathan’s friend. Brooke is the name of the girl going after Lucas. She’s my favorite. You guys have no idea on what’s to come for the further seasons and I’m so excited😌
