What really bugs me in this episode is that the Hannah we see in this episode, is a completely different Hannah than any of the other times we saw her. It's like they told Yvonne to transform to a different character to suit their story line. It didn't sit all that well with me. Added to the fact that i really don't think Hannah would do what she did last episode and if she did she wouldn't be that sloppy. Maria's death was a real powerful moment, however Debra shooting her seemed really weird and rushed, but anyway. Season 8 is not as bad as people say. Just the last moments of the last episode are a let down.

2021-06-16 20:33:14 +0000 UTCWhen the Deputy Chief was in Maria's office he said as he was leaving "get to work" and looked at a pile of unopened mail, insinuating that Maria had let some things slide. So getting the tape doesn't seem as convenient, it's more like she just didn't get to it til now. Not great writing, but not completely off the wall.

2021-04-23 02:59:22 +0000 UTCSkipping showing the setup allows for the arrest to be a surprise, have some tension, and for it to have the cool reveal as the scene goes on that you mentioned. If you already know it is setup, then you know everything will be fine. There are no stakes, no tension, and no reveal.

It's literally the final scene of the last episode of season 8, which was not good for me. That's it. Granted it's my least favourite season, but not by far. Season 6 and 8 for me are not too far off, and that's mainly because of the end episode, in season 6 finale Deb finds Dexter out, while the season 8 end episode didn't do it for me. That's the only difference between my two least favourite seasons. And if you like 6 you will enjoy 8.

2021-04-20 07:41:02 +0000 UTCThe main thing to remember is the first rule of the code is "don't get caught"! So even though the rules were that he didn't kill innocents, the first rule overides that. In order to not get caught he had to kill Laguerta, no other way

I promise 8 is not as bad as is said its just that so many people hated the finale that they diss the entire season for that reason. I didn't even hate the finale. This is my favorite series ever and didn't want it to end, so obviously I'm looking forward to season 9! I really hate that you know there is a 9 cause that takes a whole lot of options for the finale off the table for you.

2021-04-20 03:28:04 +0000 UTCi find it funny that you still thought there was a possibily deb set up the drugging at the start of this episode -- and didn't see that it was hannah from the jump. hannah is a mass murderer. deb is not. her drugging deb should not come as a surprise. lol that was 100% on brand for her. she loves dexter but that doesn't mean she gives a damn about anyone else connected to him.
