I don't understand your confusion or annoyance with Lorelai being mad. I feel like that's the least the rest of us would feel if our partner kept something of this magnitude from us. I 100% believe that if he had told her when he himself had found out, or even within the first few days, Lorelai would have needed to process and digest but she wouldn't have been mad. She would have went through the stages of shock with Luke and helped him through it. She has always been supportive and helpful in his tough times (Rachel, Nicole, Jess, his uncle's passing, etc.) and this wouldn't have been any different. Not even taking into account that whole big spiel he made about no more secrets between them, two months is a VERY long time not to tell someone you are sharing a life with about such a monumental change in their lives. April may not be living with Luke but she's not a distant niece he sees once every Christmas. She's his KID. It DOES speak about trust that he chose to hide it. He didn't even want to tell her this episode. And technically April told her. I think it's super odd considering I think Lorelai is Luke’s best friend. She's the one he's always confiding in. Then again, knowing what we do now of ASP deliberately screwing up LL to spite the network and TPTB just before her exit, it makes sense. She screwed up the characters and the relationship out of spite. It sucked but there we go.

I hated this because I don’t think that Luke as written. So far would have hid this from Loreli. And why push back the wedding that’s five months away at least cause winter carnival and spring semester, must be January. Anywho. I always thought the writers felt there wasn’t enough dram or something in their relationship so let’s throw in a kid for Luke and make it awkward and a secret.

YOU HAd the best reaction to Luke postponing the wedding!!! It is stupid, but realistic to lukes charachter .

Luke made such a big deal of Loralie not telling him she saw Christopher, which I admit she should have. They made a no more secrets pack. Then he does this which is way more secretive than a one-off meeting with your childs father. This is not just a one time line but an ongoing lie for 2 months and he purposefuly was trying to hide that April would be at the diner. So he didn't actually come clean, he was found out. Loralie was much more calm than I would have been and I was pissed when Luke asked to postpone the wedding. All the planning was done and it was still 5-6 months away. Plenty of time for things to settle down. That said, I do like April and hold nothing against her.

The letter that Lorelai writes is never mentioned again so in that way we will never get to know what is said in the letter, however, the actual letter is on display for people to see when they tour the WB back lot. The letter reads: Dear Rory, So, right now you are reading my sealed words of wisdom as the tormented, foolish (but persistent) cad hangs off every nuance of your reactions, his heart and mind in a dizzying flurry of questions as to how the outcome will play out.... As you read this, delight in the knowledge that this love-sick pup before you does not have a clue.... Now ordinarily, after a fool has taken my daughter's love for granted, if I did not kill him through a slow and excruciatingly painful death, I would instruct my daughter, much like Miss Havisham did to Estella in Great Expectations, to be cold blooded and calculating, to dash his hopes, and to crush him. However, the decision is all yours to make. love is elusive and all-encompassing; when you fall under it's intoxicating spell, you have little recourse but to live out it's devices. If you love this boy, maybe you want to give it another chance? Good luck, love you, Mom.

On top of waiting two months to tell her, his behavior on this day suggested he was making a deliberate effort to HIDE it from her. He only "told her" because she found out without his help. So honestly, Lorelai reacted better than I probably would have, lol.

Welcome to the SH, Bitch is an OC California reference! When Luke punches Ryan for the first time at Hollys beach party when he bullies Seth, he says Welcome to the OC, Bitch! 🤣

I don’t know Steven. I think you’re a little off base on this one 😊. I think if he would’ve told her within the first few days about April she would’ve been surprised but completely fine and supportive. He waited two months! Her issue really isn’t April it’s that he didn’t tell her about April.

I believe the fact that it had been 2 months before Lorelai found out about April matters so much cuz , like she said, it feels like a lack of trust; especially after their pact about no more secrets between each other. Yes, Lorelai did hold off on telling Luke about the night she stayed with Christopher after his father's passing ( which kind led to their pact in the first place) but it doesn't necessarily excuse him keeping April a secret from his fiance. It is kind of hypocritical , but in this case will probably be seen as them being "even".
