once again the manager asks rachel to sing a song and santana take her spot... jealousyyy... santana got the idea of auditioning only when rachel told them sshe didn't have time to do something and was some sort of a diva about it (i mean one sentence lol), that's why i'm upset at santana, bc she wasn't even interested in being an understudy before she saw rachel have everything... it's really high school like elliot said, and santana is just super jealous but bc she's "funny" with her insults and rachel is a "diva", then people are team santana.. truth is, santana is just super mean to her friends and i'm over it, they're grown up now and she still acts like when she had that cheerio uniform and was super insecure... i like the fact that tina and sam kissed bc that just continues the thrope of sam has kissed every girl on glee and i think it's funny

2022-02-08 21:15:41 +0000 UTCI actually think Santana has a lot of evidence to back up her assumption that Rachel would torpedo this. I fully agree re: Santana's pettiness but I feel like anyone other than Rachel would be able to see through it and realize it is coming from insecurity. (That's not an excuse...it's just so clear that Santana is not actually out to steal Rachel's role...she is out to make Rachel *think* she's out to steal her role...which again, is a crappy thing to do, but she started doing that after Rachel assumed the worst of her and I think it hurt her.) I like this storyline because it brings out the worst in both of them, but they both bring so much nuance to their characters that you can see the pain behind it. The quiet scene between the two of them alone in the apartment where it is so clear that they are both yearning for the friendship they were building but unwilling to let go of their pride is honestly one of the best.

2022-02-08 14:06:34 +0000 UTCI enjoyed this episode..like Gabby said the next three are really good. It's filled with my favorite characters and has so many emotional moments. I have already said my peace about Santana vs. Rachel so there is no need to rehash it now. Everyone's opinion is based on which character/actress they like more and their own experiences that makes them side with one over the other.

2022-02-08 11:50:59 +0000 UTCYeah I absolutely HATED this turn they took for Santana's character, like all the development for her character and their friendships was just tossed out the window. It was so jarring like they swapped her out for season 1 Santana mid season 5. I'm Team Rachel on this one too and I'm highkey devastated that they ruined the wonderful friendship Rachel and Santana had formed.

2022-02-08 10:27:47 +0000 UTCNobody come for me, but I am FULLY team Rachel in this spat vs. Santana because Santana is very petty. Imagine your high school bully ripping down your dreams as long as they've known you, all the way through school, and then showing up after graduation, moving in like you're best friends... only to go behind your back out of jealousy? Santana claiming she didn't tell Rachel she was auditioning because she would "torpedo" it, please. We don't know that! Rachel may have been open to the idea of having Santana in rehearsals and credited as an ensemble cast member since Rachel is adamant she won't miss a show, but believing that she would torpedo her audition means Santana had no higher view of Rachel now than she did in high school whereas Rachel had grown to trust Santana. Then, instead of trying to have an adult conversation about it and calming Rachel down or apologizing, Santana reverted back to calling her "short and awful" and saying she was better than Rachel, i.e. undermining her talent AGAIN. Besides, Rachel isn't wrong. The understudy is there for a reason: Fill in for the lead if something goes wrong, and they lowkey want that. But Santana is going a step further in trying to get in Rachel's head and tear her down to take the role. I know Rachel can be entitled and annoying, but she fought a lot for her career and her dream. She practiced more than any one and deserved the part of Fanny. And here Santana is in this episode planning to psych her out and undermine her confidence AGAIN, bringing her WEIGHT into it, which is so vile and disgusting, and Rachel was never big so it makes no sense, ALL so she can swoop in and take a part Rachel has been talking about FOREVER. It was always Barbara and Fanny for Rachel. Not to mention, her Broadway career is everything she has right now since Finn, and Santana didn't even blink before she went into bully-mode, fully forgetting everything Rachel has been through. People just excuse her because she's funny with it and her one-liners are gold, but truth be told, she is a MUCH worse person than Rachel. She bullies literally EVERYONE. Rachel's major flaw is thinking she's more talented than everyone else, and that can be annoying. But Santana has that SAME flaw, and in fact treats people worse than Rachel does. At least she was a good friend to a person who really didn't deserve it, who now is seen actively planning to wreck her confidence over a part. I'm not saying Rachel couldn't have handled it better, but after being tortured and called ugly and worse by Santana for YEARS for her to go behind her back with her go-to song with hopes of stepping into a part Rachel has wanted forever... Ngl, I would have slapped her too. And then in this episode Santana again makes fun of Rachel's looks in the diner and threatens to take her part, and somehow Rachel is the unreasonable one?

2022-02-08 08:33:08 +0000 UTCKind of a boring episode in my opinion, but with something like the last one, that's understandable. The music was either outstanding or meh too.

2022-02-08 06:50:18 +0000 UTCactually i’m changing my statement^ in my opinion the next 3 episodes are amazing. they all have emotional moments and nostalgic scenes. also fun/sad fact their nationals performance, all the songs they sing were Cory’s (finn) favorite songs in real life so that’s cool.
