2023-07-22 22:13:22 +0000 UTCthe impression that I get is that Julia left Albert (Craig's dad) because he was abusive and then met Joey but it was never explained why she left him or if she was with Joey before or after their marriage ended so we can only assume and in Albert's mind he believes that she left him for Joey and still holds that grudge even after her death and doesn't want anything to do with Joey or Angie because they remind him that Julia left him and Craig seem to have stayed with Albert after they divorce and would see his mom and sister on occasion until she died and Albert forbid him to see his sister again

2023-07-20 05:12:36 +0000 UTCafter the live and us commenting about how the adults ignored his clear cry for help, i've been reflecting on some things. teachers back then really did not give a single shit. i know not all of them. but far too many. there was one girl i'm remembering from my english class. she made a bad grade and was begging the teacher not to email her dad, like full blown in a panic. true, genuine panic and fear the teacher made fun of her for it, and laughed as she made her watch as she sent the email. this was also the teacher who'd make jokes in class about kids being beat at home. we were in 7th grade. i can't imagine now as an adult looking at a child in a panic and not immediately having my protective instinct kick in to want to keep them safe. i know some teachers just don't notice, there's too many kids to keep up with and it's a shame. and some truly have their hands tied. and others? others just fail on so many levels and it's heartbreaking. i've just been thinking a lot about that girl and that class and that teacher since this episode.
