New Tier Questions, Answered
Added 2023-07-20 15:39:27 +0000 UTCSo I have been asked a few questions about the new reaction request tiers.
First question is how many slots will be available for request? At the moment I’m thinking 15 slots for over 30 mins and 5 slots for under 30 mins. This can change depending on how things go. So in total that will be 20 reaction requests for me and 20 for Brian.
Next question is when the new tiers will be available and if I could make the tiers active already so that the community could see what they look like. So I could make them active but I just wanted to make sure that everyone understood that I will not be taking requests until the beginning of August.
So Im not sure how it works on Patreon but I did change the Patreon so that new members are charged on the day they join every month instead of at the beginning of the month. Was seeing people join late on the month and then get charged at the beginning of the next month again. So to avoid that issue now when someone joins that’s when they are charged. This won’t affect any current subscribers.
But I don’t know how it works when you upgrade to a new tier. Not sure if it changes when you are charged every month.
Next Question is does this change the tiers for anyone at the $15 and under tiers? No it does not. This tier is only for the request tiers. And yes if you are in those tiers you still get all the same access you have always had. You still get everything.
If you have any questions about the tiers and changes please leave them below.
P.S. Also if you want the tiers to go active this month please let me know below.

Basically the new tiers equally split the spots between Steven and Brian, and guarantee 10 shows will be 30 minute episodes to open up 10 more slots for more people. Hopefully in the future there will also be a way to get more requests in for future live streams from people not in the request tier. One of the things great about this community is the variety of interests. It’s always hard to find a way to make time for shows that might not win a popular vote, but also respect Steven and Brian’s time so they don’t burn out

2023-07-20 20:46:10 +0000 UTCSteven explained it in one of the livestreams once that he just wants to make it clearer with differentiating the tiers and yes also giving new people a chance to get in. Also it limits the amounts of requests to a point they can actually do without falling behind. I get that people want their requested shows to continue but it also means we're gonna be stuck on a couple of shows for a really long time since they can only do 1 episode per month from each tier request. so the chance of some people leaving that tier are extremely slim.

2023-07-20 20:23:42 +0000 UTCExactly! Either it is limited and first serve, or there is a time limit or som other way to keep it open. I don't really see The difference. Maby there should be a six month limit, since that is about The time The current people where awllowed to stay on The reaction tier, so it is fair?

2023-07-20 19:36:30 +0000 UTCIt's been interesting to see the evolution of the channel, being a Patreon on and off for the past few years! I am not vying for any of the request spots but I have appreciated being able to join streams and give input on watches now and again (yay fleabag!). I just wanted to flag that if the WGA and SAG strikes continue, there may be a "lull" in new content, so you may want to keep that in mind when determining the number of shows/requests that are accommodated in the next few months. (Probably on your radar already!)

2023-07-20 19:05:33 +0000 UTCI was just thinking the same thing. It doesn’t seem all that different from what the current tier system is now. This still limits the amount of people who can request. It could be the same people in those 20-40 slots who are making all the requests. I see the benefit for Steven and Brian because it limits the amount of requests they do which I understand because they can’t watch everything that every single person wants, that would burn them out. But it still means that only a small group of people have the opportunity to make requests and could potentially be the same group of people forever. I hope I worded what I meant correctly.

2023-07-20 18:39:02 +0000 UTCIs this change done mostly to open up for new people to get into this tier? Because a limited amount of spots will always lead to most people not geting into these tiers. And I feel like The request we havebeen getting has really balanced The channel and given us so manyshows that have been in The polls for so long but not won. For example broadchurch, it feels really sad that we might not get to see The rest now.

2023-07-20 18:29:03 +0000 UTCWhat's the tier to fast track a series?

2023-07-20 18:27:50 +0000 UTCPersonally I'd rather you didn't go live earlier just so I can properly think which tier I should try for. Don't think I'll get it due to so many people rushing for the tiers but I wouldn't want to regret and not be able to switch tiers later on when it's all full up...

2023-07-20 16:35:58 +0000 UTCPlease make an announcement immediately before or immediately after you release the tiers. I'm fine with it opening now or August as long as you make an announcement when you do it.
