2024-08-25 17:25:07 +0000 UTCthis episode!! i'm glad we're seeing more of mike and getting more of an idea of what he's going through. aria's parents annoy me the most out of all the parents. yes, even the hastings. because there's times where you can see the hasting parents do try sometimes. sometimes being the key word. with aria's parents it just feels so lackadasical. like your kid is struggling and idk...i get frustrated with them the most for NUMEROUS reasons i will not get into just yet lmao i feel so bad for hannah in this storyline. her dad just seems to constantly screw her over. again, it's the same sort of thing i just mentioned...your kid is struggling and there just doesn't seem to be any emergent care, or care at all. it's kind of bizarre. whenever i've re-watched this show, every storyline with her and her father that we've seen so far just kind of break my heart a bit. it just seems like all she wants is for him to care, and he just won't. meanwhile we've seen the stuff ashley will do and the lengths she'll go to protect hannah, lengths hannah would ever ask of her. and yet she's wanting just a tiny, miniscule fraction of that from her other parent, and he just can't be bothered.

2023-04-24 04:33:03 +0000 UTCOh. And Maya’s return! They wanted to make it a surprise. That’s really it. If we saw Emily try to contact Maya, we would have expected her return. It’s not that Maya “happened” to be back or she “happened” to be home. Like, sure, both of those things are true, but it doesn’t at all make anything that went down improbable. We’ve literally seen Emily at her lowest this entire season. She literally almost ran away this episode. It makes perfect sense after her conversation with Ashley, that she would decide to call Maya. I mean, think about it. There was never really a conclusion to that relationship. No closure at all. She was making up the other side of the conversation Not to mention that Emily has been occupied with other girlfriends, so it’s not like she would have been brave enough to call Maya earlier. I definitely prefer the choice of it being a spontaneous decision on Emily’s part. It’s not like she called expecting Maya to pick up or expecting her to be back in town, but it’s really nice that she is.

But he’s places the onus on her and Hanna could have said no to being involved with the wedding, but she chose to be a part of the planning, so of course Tom is going to take advantage of that. Sure, he asked her to make a speech, but only because Hanna told him she WANTS to be a part of it all. From his point of view, I could see it as he’s using the wedding to spend time with her, when it’s really he’s having her do things for the wedding so she can play the role of the “dutiful daughter.” Also, Kate did kind of set it up perfectly to make her look like she was sabotaging the wedding, but idk, if I saw my daughter that upset, my first instinct wouldn’t be to scold her, so I get where you’re coming from. We did actually learn a little more about what Mike is going through. They finally say the word ‘depression’ which, I mean, the signs were all there, but thought it was important that they used the word. I DO want to know more about Byron’s brother. They’ve talked about him twice now and I can’t tell if his brother got addicted to the medication they gave him or overdosed on it or if he refused the medication. Ella seemed to be against medicating Mike, but did express that Mike is not Byron’s brother. Much to think about! And Peter is a lawyer. I believe they told us in Season 1.
