the light isnt really "heaven" so to speak. The light is more of an indication that you have no unfinished business or regrets and now you can move on. Everyone has the opportunity to see the light regardless of what you've done

The reason why the police called Jim is because he's a paramedic. Jim works closely with the fire department, has friends in the police force etc, so when a friend and fellow first responder's wife is mentioned in a hostage situation, it's not far fetched that they'd let Jim know.

Not saying that I condone it but I get why someone would steal to pay for their child's health needs. Even so, Randy did about it all wrong. I don't understand his thought process when he didn't let Melinda leave...like, your wife is about to come home to a man with a gun. Let Melinda leave. Let the police arrest those two idiots. Melinda can still give Lynn the key later. Randy is such an idiot. I love Melinda telling Lynn "it's okay" from Randy with gritted teeth. Like she hated them both for all the trauma but she still had to do her job.

I agree Randy was awful, they all were tbh.
Randyβs sister turned herself and Wyatt in probably do to guilt. I still think sheβs awful tho, she most likely told them were Malinda was and thatβs why they called Jim.
Yeah I agree he shouldnβt have been able to see the light. He didnβt do anything to deserve to even see it. It makes sense he didnβt go in due to all his terrible choices, the entire episode he was just terrible. They literally traumatized other innocent people and traumatized Melinda several times. I wouldnβt blame Melinda if she didnβt help him either. As far as Lin just taking the money in the end and the episode acting like it was no big deal and that she deserved the money was odd, I donβt think she deserved it either. It was stolen. People were traumatized due to her husbandβs actions. Iβd feel so guilty I could never live with myself for being associated to the person that caused so much pain and I could never take the money.

Omg the shock on your face the entire episode π this episode is one of the chaotic ones, I knew your reaction would be like that, mine was too. I can definitely understand the weirdness you felt, no other episode has been like this. They've all been pretty chill, including the ones that included mean ghosts.
This one made me so frustrated. The wife never knew about their plan, Randy was right about that, but her taking the money at the end and not returning it made her guilty as well. The reason why Jim ended up at the gym with them is because Randy's sister called the police to turn both her and her boyfriend in and tell them everything they did and was involved in, then the police contacted Jim because I'm sure Randy's sister told them about Melinda being held by her boyfriend. I have no idea if that would still not make sense to you but it does to me. They didn't just randomly call Jim. Great reaction :)
