Charmed "Centennial Charmed" 5x12 Reaction

Comments

i get that. but steven has said repeatedly during other shows he reacts to (buffy, the vampire diaries) that he hates "witch stuff" in shows and movies. so based on that alone, i didn't think he was going to love charmed lol.

cil

I remember that comment, and no I don't think this means he's actually planning to drop the show. Just expressing the frustration with current situation. I've watched Gossip Girl here and some other shows which he dropped, and when he plans to do this he says very directly it might happen for several episodes before he actually does. There's been nothing like that with Charmed. He spoke very similarly when Prue died, that he lost interest, was angry and didn't really want to watch anymore, but stuck around. He did enjoy some episodes this season so it's not like the show has reached a point of no redemption, just main reason he did like it is gone and he doesn't know what to look forward to.

Just to say though, I think part of some people's interest in reactions is showing the reactors the movies and shows they love in hopes the reactor will enjoy it. Also how can some vote on a show they've never seen before so most are gonna vote on what they know just out recognition.

Kenzie

He literally said, I don't need to see anything else, I could move on to a different series and be perfectly happy if I'm being honest. What in that doesn't make it seem like he's thinking about dropping the show. It's becoming a thing for almost every drama show.

Kenzie

I don't know why people keep mentioning abandoning the show, not once did he say that he would, or I just didn't hear itπŸ˜‚ maybe because he's done this for so many other shows that fans are getting worried

@cil oh I remember how surprised I was when I saw Charmed in suggestions, I thought wow do ppl really think it's a good idea? But this has been the case for all suggestions here, music videos, movies... People pick what they enjoy and very few seem to care if it's at all in the tastes of the reactor. I jumped on board in suggesting Charmed as all the other shows ppl were pushing were so much worse. I'm glad as he seems to have liked Charmed a lot more than I thought he would, but sad at the same as there are so many other shows he'd be way more into but won't react to as his audience won't vote for them. Oh well, it is what it is. Next season is much better than this one, has some stories he will like I'm sure

Robke

im surprised people even voted for him to watch this show to begin with. it didn't seem like something he would like. whenever the polls come out for what shows he should watch, people should vote according to shows they think HE'LL like and not based on the shows THEY like. just cause ya'll like it, it doesn't mean he will lol. im watching this series for the first time via his reactions. and while there are cool moments here and there -- i haven't really been impressed with charmed overall. i'm fine with his criticisms of the show. and i can totally understand why he wouldn't connect to the characters.

I've loved this show since I was 14 years old, and it still holds a special place for me, Why? because they didn't do the show for better or worse like any other series they did there own thing. s6-8 becomes some of its best of the show. And to abandon this show because a side character got killed off when he probably shouldn't have made it as far as he did is really sad. And to abandon this show midseason, would be a real waste, for those who have paid money to see you react to this show. Try to get to S6 if you hate it then okay we will be okay if you drop it.

Cole should have died at the end of last season. I loved his character, but the writers decided to keep him in the show in the worst way possible. Even on my first watch I felt sad for him while also wishing he'd be gone instead of sticking around in this miserable state. Now we can move on to better stories and new characters. Sad to hear you say you don't care about anyone who is left, perhaps it's because of lack of interesting stories for them. Or maybe it's resentment for how Cole was treated, I think most fans agree it was bad writing, season five is one of the weakest for this show. I keep saying season 6 is one of the strongest and I've been looking forward to it since the end of s4. πŸ˜‚ Hang in there, I think you'll enjoy. Not much left

Honestly the timeline thing confused me a bit as well as I'd COMPLETELY forgotten that s3 finale ended with Phoebe stuck in the underworld w Cole. They could have made this a 2 parter tbh, to give Cole a proper send-off and to elaborate a bit more on the plot lines. I loved angry badass Piper so much. It's interesting that Cole blames Paige instead of taking ownership of his decisions. Or even blaming Phoebe because she certainly played a part in his downward spiral. It's a little disheartening to hear you say you don't care about any other character now that Cole's gone when it's only Phoebe that's been annoying you lately and you did mention everyone else was written well. I hope you do stick around because Cole's story is TIRED and dragged out for too long in a way that, I agree, wasn't written very well. There's still a lot to explore with Piper, Paige and Leo. Even Phoebe has to move on from this. There's a lot of enjoyable stuff to come IMO.

You missed it when Cole told the avatar guy "Phoebe and I were at our best before Paige came along. If Phoebe and Piper had never met Paige, we would still be good." That's when Cole used his new unlimited power as an avatar and turned this into a What If episode: What If The Source Succeeded at the beginning of Season 4, and killed Paige before the Charmed Ones could be re-constituted after Prue was killed by Shax at the end of season 3? Meaning everything we know that happened in Season 4 NEVER HAPPENED because in OUR reality, Paige survived season 4 episodes 1 and 2. In THIS new reality, Paige did NOT. Which means that changed EVERYTHING that happened after. Butterfly Effect. That means that timeline you're focusing so hard on is worthless because the Charmed Ones are no more. The Power of Three ended with Prue's death, which means the entire timeline we're familiar with is thrown completely off. Phoebe hates Cole because she hasn't had the chance to heal from Prue's death. She's still stuck in that agreement that she and Cole made with The Source in the finale of season 3 where The Source agreed to rewind time and undo Piper's death from being shot by that crazy lady - ONLY if Phoebe stayed with them in the Underworld. Phoebe remained the property of the demons that entire time. Why WOULDN'T she resent Cole in this new timeline where one of her sisters was killed and the other is only kept alive because Phoebe is sticking with the agreement she and Cole made with The Source? You're absolutely incapable of empathizing with any of the sisters in this show. Like...at all. I probably wouldn't mind if you go ahead and stopped watching as well. This show truly isn't for you.
