Did you know? Adreea is mute. I've had that in mind for a long time, but never actually committed to it before. Who needs talking when you can listen to the rain instead anyway!

Oh jeez, most of these are things I don't know. :^) She's definitely an amphibian and can breathe underwater, or at least hold her breath for a very long time. I'm not going into detail on all those other things, because this species, as you've noticed, only has one example, and details like that aren't necessary to make simple pieces with the one character I have. I do have maybe one or two other ideas that makes the species more interesting, but they won't be apparent until I make more laenei chars. Which I would like to do, by the way. Eventually. Right now I'm focusing on details like these only for the magnum opus. C:

I never knew she was mute, just thought she was very clingy and very much enjoyed physical contact to communicate. This explains a lot. She's so cool! Your description above made me think that Jinjing-Yu didn't wanna go in the water so I was surprised by her reaction. I actually want to know more about Adreea or her Laenei species if you could share. We have only seen one so there's a lot of unseen abnormalities or even what a male Laenei looks like. Roughly how long is each life cycle of a Laenei? Egg--> Embryo (fetus) --> hatchling (baby)--> juvenile (toddler/child/teen)--> Adult --> Geriatric Is Adreea a reptile or an amphibian and can she breath under water? Many reptiles need a heat lamp in captivity to survive, as well as a UVB lamp. Reptiles are commonly calcium deficient so they require close regulation to not be hypocalcemic what kinds of things does Adreea do to avoid these issues? I don't imagine she drinks someone's milk. Are we going to see her molt at any point? What evolutionary advantages does she have over just being human? I feel like her eyes would be one major one since she doesn't have normal round pupils. It's prolly too many questions so I'll save my other questions for another time.
