Variable Optics
Added 2024-11-13 14:37:45 +0000 UTCHi!
Here's the last LPVO / zoom level iteration for Patch 2.
This feature took a little longer to implement than I expected, but it's now really stable and here's the main improvements:
3 zoom levels (close, medium, far)
Dynamic depth of field (from medium range)
Additive reticle blending (harder too see against bright elements)
Parallax reticle tilting (reticle now reacts to weapon sway)
Parallax ocular lens reveal (previously it faded evenly from black)
Dynamic mouse sensitivity (medium range use automatic calculation)
Supports rail movement (zoom levels work with the custom positions)
Supports save system (optic position and selected zoom level)
This current iteration uses non-dual render approach meaning it's really lightwight in terms of rendering performance. I have also tested the dual render scopes (PIP) with this system and option to use those is coming to the game at some point.
I have multiple other improvements planned for these non-dual render optics (probably in Patch 3) but for now I'm going with this and it should already be a big improvement compared to the last version.

2024-11-13 15:42:08 +0000 UTCLooks great as always. Been putting in hours with the latest demo and enjoying it. Would there be a chance for offset sights when rolling the gun in the future?

2024-11-13 14:54:53 +0000 UTCIt’s looking great so far! I do have a question, will there be any optics with a reticle that has a different color than red? Or will there be a way to change the color?
