Magazines (Preview v2)

Here's more in-depth look at the magazines and how the system would work with the ammo loading and unloading.
I'm doing some calculations today to figure out how much extra time this magazine system would need, but since I'm already liking this approach and how it would provide this extra need for preparing (going to maps), it's most likely going to be implemented for early access.

I think that, with this kind of system, it would be cool to have a "1 round" animation (like DayZ) where if you have the correct rounds, but not the magazine, you should be able to load one round in the chamber.

Backpack, pockets, etc. and that we could only directly draw mags out of "quickly/realistically" accessible ones. As for example pockets of pants or jackets, pouches, rig etc.

2025-01-09 22:16:31 +0000 UTCIs a cool idea are you aiming for a metro exodus styled inventory where you take your backpack off and actually look at the items? Would quite cool I think

2025-01-09 21:35:31 +0000 UTCI assume reloading in combat would switch to a loaded mag (either parial or full) that's already in your inventory, preference to full mag, then either place the empty mag in your rig or drop on the ground if you have a fast reload option, where I just hit the mag release with my thumb and let it drop while grabbing a new mag with the off hand. This would then require you to retrieve your empty mag from the ground after the fire fight and you risk forgetting it. If you have no mags with any ammo then a reload animation just doesn't play.

2025-01-09 21:34:51 +0000 UTCWould be cool to have a loading tool item that reduces loading times. Maybe make it rare like the lasers? Or maybe it's only usable in the hideouts. Either way, I like what I see

2025-01-09 21:25:28 +0000 UTCI prefer this method personally. It creates some nice tension in combat. Do I take a chance to reload a mag if I don't already have one ready, or swap weapons to get out of this situation? Outside of combat it creates a nice short temp break.

2025-01-09 20:36:34 +0000 UTCIt might be good to have the current ammo system in the demo branch as an "easy mode". Crank up realism in the commercial branch as "fiddly mode" with this mag system approach.

2025-01-09 18:26:15 +0000 UTCwill you keep that ammo boxes system or do you think about adding single stackable bullets?

2025-01-09 15:28:16 +0000 UTCI love how the game is taking shape, is there any plan on making magazine refill only through animation in game and only outside the menu (or maybe only thought the menu outside of combat at a camp fire for instance, there could be buff so it doesn't slow the out of combat experience too much) ? And if so will there be speed loader you could find in raid or something to make it faster ?
