If they decide to crack down on this stuff, I want to make sure my ass is covered for a lawsuit 😂

(A very young Jada Pinkett is in it too) Billy Zane is an AMAZING actor. He was also a comic book character who is a crime-fighting hero in "The Phantom" (1996). The character debuted in comic strips in 1936.

2025-02-12 03:01:33 +0000 UTCThis post will be a long one but I need to talk about this, lol. Titanic is one of my favorite movies. I saw it at least 7 times in the theater because it was such a spectacle. I always go and see it whenever it’s re-released and it’s still very impressive. I can’t say all the effects hold up but the majority to me does. It also helps that so much of it is practical. They built 3 different models, a 60-foot, 40-foot and a 775-foot exact replica. It was designed just like the real ship, inside and out. Cameron used real Titanic blueprints to get it down and the costumes were also very historically accurate. When the chandelier gets destroyed, it really got destroyed and he only had one shot to do it. And believe it or not, all the dead people in the water when the boat returned were all real people, no dummies or fake bodies, aside from the baby of course. The make-up was done perfectly and everyone did such a good job. James Cameron also created backstories for every one of the 150 extras, so they felt real. The musical score by James Horner is amazing. One thing I wish it got more recognition is the sound editing. The sounds the ship makes when it’s sinking and breaking apart is chilling. In a way it's like the ship itself is crying or in pain. And to me that just shows how brilliant a director is when he can make a ship be a character and not only that but the main character. What’s funny is James Cameron made this to fund an expedition to see the shipwreck, not just to make the movie. He has gone down to the ship 33 times and all those exterior shots in the film were real footage. He was very particular about making this film as accurate as possible, so years of research was done. Of course not everything is but the details of this movie are insane and I need to mention some. So, aside from Jack, Rose, Cal, her mother, Lovejoy, Fabrizo and Tommy, everyone else in the film were real people. Everyone Rose talks about at dinner were real first-class passengers. During the scene when Ismay and Captain Smith are talking about going faster you can see a woman behind them glance over and you would think that was a goof on the actress’s part but no, that was intentional, a passenger overheard their conversation. The elderly couple in the bed were the founders of Macy’s department store, they wouldn’t let him on the lifeboat and she refused to go without him, there’s actually a deleted scene showing this and were the inspiration for the “you jump I jump” with Jack and Rose. And the musicians did indeed played together until their death. The cook did drink that whisky before the ship sank and it saved his life. The boy playing with the spinner with his father was recaptured from a photo. And probably my favorite detail is, all the flashback scenes is a runtime of 2 hours 40 minutes and that is exactly how long it took the Titanic to sink and also the moment they see the iceberg to when it hits is 37 seconds and again that’s how long it took for it to hit in real life. Obviously I find the real Titanic incredibly fascinating, I’ve been obsessed ever since I saw this movie, lol.

The only real fictional aspects of it are really the whole Jack and Rose story. They more or less represent class/society at that time.
