Fyodor played him so well, that Ace thought that killing himself would get him out of the "ability". But here's the thing, there was no ability. Fyodor lied.
Ace, hung himself. No doubt.
Even as manga readers we don't know what Fyodor's ability is or what it does. We just know that its kills.

Now you see why he's called Crime and Punishment for his Ability. He's fucking scary cause he's one of those calm ones that seems to show a poker face all the time. This one ain't gonna be just a fun ride guys. @~@

Fyodor actually hints at why he hung himself, the kidnapper had found a “method to escape an ability space”. The method was to kill yourself inside the illusion, which would wake you up. So Fyodor’s ENTIRE plan was to trick him into thinking he was inside an ability so he would kill himself to try and escape.
This is absolutely one of my favorite episodes in the entire show once you realize that. He purposely got captured and fed the kidnapper the lie that you can escape an ability by killing yourself, set up a bunch of tricks to make his victim absolutely convinced he wasn’t in reality, and then just watched as he rushed to hang himself, so convinced that he had won. It’s so brutal and does such a good job of setting up this villain.
