So the way that Lakhan and his son bowed to Jinshi is really significant because it's how a father and in laws would bow to their daughter husband. He's basically saying Maomao is yours now so you need to take responsibility for her. π§ Also he has to accept that he is the moon prince cause that is the only way he can rescue Maomao and not have her get in trouble for leaving the Rear Palace. Basically saying you kidnapped the princes women so now we going to war. π€

2025-05-31 07:59:47 +0000 UTCFun fact, weβre about to catch up and pass the manga. This episode ends a mere two chapters before where the manga is. Itβs not a problem as theyβre adapting the light novel and weβre only 1/4th the way through those, but itβs still fun. Weβre like 2 weeks away from people like me finally being blind to what happens next, lol. This was such a strong episode though. The writing is as strong as always, but the anime is also doing a ton of work to sell the gravity of things. Lakanβs bow to Jinshi was FAR more dramatic than the manga and took longer for him to do. It shows just how important it is for someone of his station and attitude to bow and ask for this favor. Heβs not just asking him to find Maomao as a personal favor, he is asking Jinshi to reveal his identity as the crown prince and lead an army. This is a heavy request to make.
