24hr exclusive: Pac-Man | Design Icons
Added 2019-10-15 14:00:03 +0000 UTCWhile much of the young games industry was focused on copying the success of Taito's Space Invaders, one designer decided to go in a very different direction. The result: my second design icon, Pac-Man.
Cheers!

My heart skipped a beat when you mentioned PAC-MAN 256. Thanks for the shoutout Mark. Looking forward to the next in the series.

2019-10-17 22:28:13 +0000 UTCoh! important thing to note is that ms pac-man wasn't developed by Midway, it was actually made by the General Computer Corporation, and published by Midway and NamCo as part of a lawsuit against the GCC.

2019-10-17 09:32:43 +0000 UTCThe Ghost AI behaviour has been published for a long time but this is by far the best visualisation and demonstration I have seen. It should help a LOT of budding developers realise how simple AI can be to fool us. Well done, Mark! Edit: There's a great Gamasutra article called "Characters and Worldbuilding: Analyzing the Strength of Japanese Games" by Zack Wood (delete link if not appropriate here): https://www.gamasutra.com/blogs/ZackWood/20170516/298096/Characters_and_Worldbuilding_Analyzing_the_Strength_of_Japanese_Games.php Might be worth a Reading List next month?

2019-10-16 01:02:23 +0000 UTCIs it just me, or are the videos not playing in mobile (Firefox for Android)? It's a bummer, I end up waiting the 24 hours to watch
