Wilfrith and the Golem Stonemason - 28 (Censored)

After this page, it gets a little too hot and heavy to mosaic without just blurring the whole thing to keep it borderline safe for work, but I still wanted to share some of the things I did here.

This a great example of how I used my 3D set to draw my backgrounds. Blender allows you to alternate between perspective projections with a key command, so you can easily change angles of your model and how the lines converge to see what works best for your present storytelling challenge.

I feel like a lot of the time 3D models make people go too hard with 3 point projections and the scenes end up looking way too (hmm, what’s a way to put it) fancy? Maybe too elaborate. 3 point where a 1 point composition would be the most effective gives an overly 3D vibe to a drawing, for me. It’s great if you want to wow the viewer with the scale of a spaceship interior, or a castle, but in a small intimate space like this it just looks really out of place. Especially since you’re then committed to making your figures match the perspective.

So here I wanted to use the bars-upon-bars to give some visual texture and depth to the background with the model as a guide.
