Goals for November

first of I want to apologize for the loading bug in the latest version. I've reuploaded a fixed version and updated the links so it should work now. For those who have downloaded the bugged version you can also use the hotfix in the release post so that you don't have to download the whole game again. Reupload of the full download is still in progress by the moment of writing this post, I'll add it as soon as it's done uploading.
That's what happens if you try to fix something but then don't have enough time afterwards to check if it's really working correctly :/ I hope I can avoid such things in the future.
Now, overall I was happy that this update was finally done on Friday. Some aspects could have been further expanded and maybe I have time in the coming month to add a few more dialogue lines for Melissa's corrupted state (This came a bit short). But in terms of outcomes of the first part of Melissa's story I'm happy about the conclusion and that I was able to give a meaningful choice at the end (also a bad end in case you lose the final fight with the thugs, by now I don't advise doing that or Melissa will be locked until her next update).
But the next goal for this week will be the bonus scene for Liandra & Yasmine. I will do what I can to get it done by the end of the week (fingers crossed).
After that we finally get to the rework update. I've posted a short to do list already on discord so let's put that here as well:
- Rebalance combat in general (items, character stats, enemies) - also make the level up experience more consistent (balance quest exp)
- Integrate Rumah into the general timetable to fix problems with positioning
- Add an alternative route for Emily (make the relationship with her optional - currently you must have a relationship with her in order to progress the MC's house building, this is something I want to change)
- Decouple the King's visit from Frisha's storyline (currently you must progress Frisha in order for the King to come to Arenfield, I want to change that because Frisha's story should be optional and not mandatory for the games main story progression)
- Rework of some character dialogue images/sprites
- Adding dialogue to make references to marriage more plausible
- Adding some new animations as well as reworking of some older animations (Imawyn at tent for example in the early stages, ofc with the goal so that these animations become available later on when you made your camp there)
- I've also gotten a lot of input from patrons on other things that might need adjustments, I will see what can be done about that.
Especially the last point includes a lot of things that are difficult to list here, but I will of course by the end list all changes that made it into the game.
Since some things have raised concern I want to address this now:
- I will not break current saves with this update.
- I will not change the organic nature of the game progression and only make some routes (like the relationship with Emily) optional. You will still have to play her story in order to get the MC's house renovated, but with this change you can then decide to only be friends with Emily if that is your choice.
I don't think I can complete the rework this month since adding everything will take a while. There might be some other things I add in this update (new animations or other mechanics) I will talk about that in detail when I see what is actually possible in the given time. But since some where concerned that this might take more than 2 months I can reasure you that it won't take longer than December. I will also release a first version for you to test the combat changes by the end of November. And since December is around I also want to add another christmas special, but that is something we can further talk about next month.

I will also start a new content and bonus scene poll next week.

yeah, it won't be that easy. But I hope it doesn't take that long... but I'll spend a lot of time on testing enemies at certain levels and with different talents/gear

2023-11-07 10:16:36 +0000 UTCYeah, I know. But Tia is really big in that regard... Making sex with her optional would really take a lot of work. So that is something I'm not doing in this rework update.

2023-11-07 10:14:53 +0000 UTCok so im slowly building back up to where i was before i stupidly corrupted my saves. but based off the stuff i have gotten so far everything seems to be working and looks great. with that being said if the rework takes more then 2 months i have no problem with that at all. we have needed the rework for a while now. people and events need to be updated. this will take some time. then adding in the code fixes and all the sudden 2 months is a surprisingly short amount of time. just fixing the combat and leveling alone is probably going to take you three weeks. so meny numbers, so meny state blocks im already getting a headache and im not even going to do the coding

2023-11-07 08:01:06 +0000 UTCPersonally, I would absolutely love if all the females romances were optional but you can still do their questlines. I know it would be a hassle to rework some characters dialogues and stuff but it would be cool in my opinion. I know people would hate another Tia rework but I thought it would be cool to help her earn her tribe member status without having to be with her ya know? It could also open up a new routes for characters.
