Literally is 'BBC'. Oh my. :D

Xmas specials are often a bit more light hearted as they are made for more family viewing on xmas day.

The only Christmas special I honestly liked was the first one “Christmas Invasion”. Mostly because it didn’t feel like a Christmas episode overall, it felt more like a massive alien invasion episode and I’m always a fan of those lol.

I think how the show handles the Doctor dealing with Rose being gone is very well done. This incarnation of the Doctor is known for being very human, and not to mention Rose was the first one after the Time War to really connect with him. So in the future, know that when a companion leaves, it’s never just “oh well she’s gone, time to move on”. There is always a bit of greaving or the get mentioned or something. As for Donna I’m glad you liked her towards the end, which is what was really meant to happen. You don’t necessarily have to get over Rose at this point, because even the Doctor hasn’t done that, so I would say you can still be sad about Rose and also accept new companions at the same time (:

INTRODUCING DONNA ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE CHARACTERS!!

I know you're going to miss Rose, but I do honestly think you'll love Season 3 and especially 4. But you will have to try and get over her at some point... :D

I'm always astonished how reactors don't want Donna to be the companion - I wonder if it's because they don't have time to heal as they go straight on from Season 2 to the special, whereas the rest of us had months between them to get used to the idea. Plus, a lot of Brits knew Catherine Tate very well and had either a preconceived love or hate at the idea of her being a companion - for me it was love all the way. I remember being absolutely gutted when she said no at the end! Overall, I don't love this episode though - agree with you.

Yeah personally I think most of the Christmas specials are subpar but that might just be me. Also somehow I've never realised that this was the first time Gallifrey had been mentioned in the new series, I never thought of that as a big moment before. Can't wait for your reactions to season 3! :)

Yeah, DW has a Christmas special every year seperate from the series (except series 7 which was half in 2012 and half 2013, so it sits in the middle). If you're not watching Torchwood (which is best for reactions honestly, the mini series 3 is the only series I really love) then the only thing to remember for now is that the big, industrial Torchwood we saw last series was wiped out in that battle. It has survived in another form however and that'll be a surprise when it does show back up...
