Path of the Unleashed

Those who walk the wastes of Athas are no stranger to the violence and bloodshed it takes to survive in a dead world bereft of resources like Athas. Warriors who seek an edge in this never ending fight for survival occasionally offer themselves to be the subject of the arcane experiments done by mad mages who seek to create monsters and use them to further their own goals.

The warriors who walk the path of the unleashed are those who have been mutated by powerful magic, unleashing their psionic potential and warping their bodies to create an unstoppable force.


Freakish Fury - Upon choosing this Path at 3rd level, you begin to unlock your latent psionic abilities, causing your rage to manifest physical changes in your body. When you Rage, you mutate into your Freakish Form, taking on strange monstrous characteristics. 

Mind Over Body - Beginning at level 6, your control over your psionic abilities increases. You learn the Mage Hand cantrip, which is invisible when manifested. Additionally, you learn the following spells at each of the listed levels. None of these spells require verbal, somatic, or material components, but you can only cast them on yourself. You can cast each spell once for free and must take a Short or Long rest before you can do so again. You are able to cast these spells while Raging.

Energized Attacks - At level 6, choose one type of damage, Necrotic, Psychic, or Radiant. Your natural weapon attacks deal an additional 1d8 damage of the chosen type while you are raging. 

Mental Fortitude - At level 10, you have learned to anticipate attacks on your mind. When forced to make an Intelligence or Wisdom saving throw, you may use your Reaction and expend a use of your Rage to gain Advantage on the roll. If you were not raging when making this saving throw, you may choose to enter your rage as a part of the Reaction. 

Radioactive Rage - At level 14, the strange energies that caused your transformation and strange abilities have begun to radiate from you. When you activate your Rage, all creatures within 10ft. of you take 1d10 damage of the same type chosen for your Energized Attacks feature. Each time a creature ends their turn within 10ft. of you, they take this damage. 

As an action, you can expend 1 use of your Rage ability to create a massive pulse of energy, causing all creatures within 30 ft of you to make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 6d10 damage of the same type and gains 1 point of Exhaustion. On a successful save, they take half as much damage and to not gain Exhaustion. The DC for the saving throw is equal to 8 +Your Proficiency + Your Constitution Modifier. After your rage ends, you gain 1 Point of Exhaustion for each time this ability was used.
