Lucifer Episode 8 Reaction

Comments

Oh, hi D Boss... we meet on another Lucifer Patreon reactor! There's been a few!

Celia Fox

Luci believed Maze involved Amenadiel more for herself because she wants to go back to hell with Lucifer and thought helping Amenadiel would accomplish this.

Dude, "et tu" is Latin, not French! From the Shakespeare play where Caesar says et tu Brute, meaning you too Brutus (for stabbing him in the back). And I know you are way ahead in the episodes at this point, but you should stop trying too hard to figure things out. Almost every time you stop to try to figure out what's going on, it's revealed in the next 30 seconds if you didn't stop. I appreciate that you stop to comment rather than talking over the dialogue, but stopping too much for silly reasoning is almost as annoying as talking over the show dialogue. This show has incredibly good writing, and performing and it's like a wonderful tapestry of many inter connected threads. But trying to focus on a dangling thread and you may miss the larger picture. These writers like to tease and torture the audience, and they are good at sleight of hand - taking us down a path which is a blind alley. Or making it appear to be a nothing clue, only to have that clue crop up again much later when several other hints or clues all come together. But trying to guess where it's going every few minutes you will not enjoy the journey as much. It's probably made more difficult if English is not your first language, because subtle turns of phrase which have more than one meaning escape your grasp. Like your asking why did the partner commit suicide - after Dan said to Malcolm "How long did it take you to write the suicide note" and Malcolm smirks and says "Forever, I'm so not a word guy". Dan knew Malcolm killed his partner and staged it to look like a suicide, and Malcolm basically admits it with his reply. Again it's a most excellent show, just don't try too hard to figure it out in minute detail - relax a bit more and the tapestry will reveal itself. You are getting a lot right, but focusing too closely and you may miss the larger picture. (and it's not really about the detective drama so much as the cases almost always relate to lessons a character also needs to learn - there are multiple levels of "meaning" to almost everything that happens)

D Boss
