In regards to Lady O'hare after bungling the comic earlier this year I really had to step back and acknowledge why I liked her in the first place. And if you've ever heard me talk about my characters then you'll know my head is always two strokes ahead of my pen in terms of subtext.
In this instance like nearly everything I do, I put a piece of myself into the mix, and the piece that was given to O'hare was that megalomaniacal part that I think exists in all of us to want it all. All the food, all the money, and all the power. She's greedy, selfish, narcissistic, and spoiled fat -awful traits to have in real life, but in this fever dream where animal people can devour each other with the butts, she's not only someone we may desire to be with but someone we may desire become.
So by taking that last statement literally I made it so that others could become her via Gestalt Fusion, wherein you stop being you and you start being her. You become the big bunny and free yourself from morality and self accountability. To be a kind of god. Waddle in her body and throw your weight around without shame.
This is why I chose to go first person for these drawings. I really wanted to drive home the fact that it doesn't have to be other characters, it could be you!
