Turning Chapter 1107

Chapter 1107

Yuder answered honestly.

"Yes."

"..."

Kishiar's gaze sank even deeper for a moment. Yuder quickly continued speaking to prevent him from blaming himself for not noticing his own changes.

"You remember my previous heat, don't you? I was also one of the awakeners who didn't properly think about the fact that my heat was coming until you, Commander, made me aware of it."

The first heat that came with manifestation passed with fever in a time he couldn't even remember. Therefore, the heat he experienced around the time he visited the Western Branch to help with the recruitment of 2nd batch members was Yuder's first real heat.

Before that heat came, Yuder experienced precursor symptoms of his body becoming more sensitive than before and his scent becoming a bit stronger for quite a long time. However, because he hadn't experienced heat in his previous life, he couldn't properly think that this might be a precursor to his heat.

"It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that there's no one in this world who has had a second gender longer than me, but even I couldn't properly gauge my own condition, which is quite ridiculous. However,"

Yuder paused for a moment and looked straight into Kishiar's eyes.

"-because you were there, I was able to not blame myself."

At that time, Yuder heard Kishiar's advice and prepared in his own way. However, it wasn't of much use. Who could have expected that it would start in a bloody battle situation right after he had given the suppressant he had brought in advance to another second gender awakener who was in a dangerous state?

They say he immediately killed and made the second gender awakener who had insulted him then pay the price, even though he was having difficulty controlling his body, but if Kishiar hadn't come in time, something dangerous might have happened.

If it had been the previous Yuder, he would have felt great anger and self-blame for making such a stupid mistake. However, the current Yuder didn't feel that memory so negatively.

It was all because Kishiar had been by his side then.

Because he was there, not blaming anyone and immediately moving Yuder to spend time in a space with just the two of them, Yuder was able to think for the first time that being immersed in instinct might not be so bad.

It was the moment when he finally accepted the heat of a second gender manifested person, which he had only thought of as bestial, as his own natural state.

"You said you had experienced heat before. However, I don't think it's strange even if you didn't notice because the precursor symptoms now are completely different from then. A considerable amount of time has passed since your previous heat, and hasn't the variable of our connection also occurred?"

"..."

"Nothing can become a formula for awakeners. This time, it might just be that it's become your heat. That's all it is."

"That's all it is."

Kishiar slowly repeated Yuder's last words.

After a moment, he finally burst into a light laugh, like a flower raising its head after discovering the sun.

"...Yes. You're right. Although the pattern is completely different from the two heats I experienced before, that could be the case. And besides the fact that you almost drowned in my scent without me knowing, nothing has happened yet."

"It's just a figure of speech."

And in fact, it wasn't that he disliked it that much. Although the amount of scent Kishiar poured out increased more than usual, making it difficult to endure due to excessive stimulation, conversely, it also meant that he received that much more from him.

Even if his body was a bit tired, how could Yuder Aile, who was willing to accept anything given by Kishiar, dislike it?

"I was fine. I'm just concerned because it seems that your power and scent growing stronger simultaneously didn't happen even during your previous heat."

"I see. I understand."

Kishiar nodded readily.

"But it's still regrettable that I didn't know about my own changes until I heard it from someone, which has hardly ever happened in my life. I should closely examine my condition to ensure this doesn't happen again, so please look at me carefully."

"There's no need to apologize. Don't worry, I was planning to do so even if you didn't say it."

Kishiar smiled with softened eyebrows. Yuder was about to place his hand on Kishiar's exposed bare skin when he suddenly noticed a clenched fist.

One hand placed beside his thigh, out of Yuder's sight, was tightly clenched into a fist with veins protruding and skin turning pale.

'...'

Even if he understood what Yuder was saying, it might have been difficult to quickly withdraw the self-blame and surprise he had already felt.

Yuder reached out his hand without saying anything. As he placed his hand on the fist and grasped it tightly, the man looked up at Yuder with a start.

"I'll begin."

Yuder exerted his power as he was. The power he now drew out as quickly as breathing tinted one eye golden, and instantly the energies flowing through Kishiar's interior were revealed before his eyes.

The four energies he possessed were still clustered around the positions Yuder remembered. In the past, those energies revolved around the central 'vessel' protected by the red awakener's energy, but they were tangled in a mess and swollen in places. Recently, however, they had become surprisingly orderly and maintained their respective areas relatively well.

Still, Yuder's last memory was that there were inevitably quite a few tangled parts near the center of the vessel...

'Hm?'

The newly opened interior of Kishiar looked quite different from when Yuder had last seen it.

First, the red energy that had been wrapped around the vessel protectively had become much thicker than before. The awakener's energy that existed in the lower abdomen had also increased significantly in quantity, and correspondingly, the other three energies also seemed to be trying to expand their areas, so they were in a full state that didn't give the impression that any one energy had become particularly abundant.

However, it was simply unbelievable that all these energies were crammed into one person's body.

'The tangled parts... seem to exist, but they're not as visible as before.'

If you put a small amount of cookies in a basket and sprinkle small candies between them to hide, you could easily find and pick them out. However, if the number of cookies in the basket increased significantly, wouldn't it become difficult to find the candies hidden between them? Yuder's feeling was roughly similar to that.

'It's probably one reason that there aren't as many tangled parts as before, but...'

"Is there something strange?"

Kishiar asked slowly. Yuder carefully scanned the interior that was undulating as if trying to follow the tip of his hand where the energy of the red stone was concentrated, and opened his mouth.

"The overall amount of energy you possess has increased. I don't know why... but it doesn't feel like the balance has been broken in any one direction. Anyway, it must have been difficult for you to control."

"So that's how it is."

After saying that, Kishiar was silent for a moment. Then he opened his mouth in a gently sinking voice.

"...Before, when you first opened my interior, you made my heat disappear while examining the messy energies."

He remembered. How tense he had been when he touched one of the tangled stems and that part changed, thinking he had negatively affected Kishiar's physical condition. Fortunately, that wasn't the case, but he thought that perhaps the influence from that time might have continued until now, becoming one of the reasons for showing different precursor symptoms than before.

Just as Yuder was about to say that, Kishiar brought up an unexpected topic.

"Perhaps, could you do the same thing again now as you did then?"

Yuder's hand stopped for a moment. He pondered the words he had just heard again and asked with a frown.

"...Are you saying I should recreate here what I did when I acted recklessly without knowing anything and made you skip your heat once?"

"When you put it that way, it sounds like I did something terribly wrong."

"I just stated the facts."

"Originally, the precursor symptoms of my heat were fever, rapid loss of energy, and the precarious shaking of the vessel that had been maintaining balance since I awakened."

Kishiar murmured calmly.

"It wasn't much different from the periodic symptoms that would come when the powers contained in the vessel were about to overflow. To put it simply, it means it was a very unpleasant time."

"..."

"While it may be natural to accept heat when it comes, the timing is too bad now. I think it would be too difficult to be isolated from the outside in a tower for several days like before in a situation where anomalous cracks have scattered and disappeared across the country. Don't you think so?"

Kishiar’s crimson eyes calmly met Yuder’s gaze.

Comments

it hurts to see how quick yuder is to blame himself for acting alone. i wish he knew some things are truly out of his control and even if kishiar wasn’t there to help him through his last heat, it wouldn’t have been his fault for getting in that situation in the first place. 😔

hien

Of course, the moment we are all excited for the rut to come we get “let’s skip it” sigh noooo man no. His rut will be different now that he’s stable and they have the connection now so I doubt it would be a terrible time for him like in the past

Jesse Gibson

Kishiar nooo don't skip your rut big boye, yuder is here with you and your retainers are capable people

Shrak Prince

I don’t think this is a good idea, messing with their cycles like that on purpose sounds unhealthy. Yuder was already really uneasy when he realized he did it on accident the first time. Also, since this is in a world where heats and Alpha/Omega biology hasn’t been studied for very long, they don’t know if doing so could cause side effects or physical damage in the long run. I hope Yuder shuts this idea down :/ If they start a precedent in doing this to Kishiar every time they’re afraid they’ll be too busy or needed by people during a heat, chances are he’ll just want to skip every single one. The life of a Cavalry Commander and Prince isn’t an uneventful one after all.

Liandrin Kamiya

I was literally thinking the same thing about the cookies and candies analogy lmao.

Ahbrimone

Kishiar is trying to avoid his rut? Honestly can't say I blame him, but that's probably not the healthiest choice to make. (Also how f*cking cute is it that Yuder's analogy was cookies/candies? Kishiar's feeding habits must be having a subconscious effect on him.🤭)
