After Palpatine captured Maul, there was a planned storyline that bridged that cliffhanger to the final four episodes of Clone Wars, but the show was cancelled before those episodes were made. Then, when the show was revived, that storyline wasnโt incorporated into the final season. These pivotal Darth Maul episodes were made into a comic called โDarth Maul: Son of Dathomir.โ (set between Season 6 and 7) And it just so happens that someone made an audioplay of the comic on YouTube, so itโs almost like watching an episode. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCDcloyH_I4&t=517s I know theyโre not going to change their watchlist, but I hope they watch this at some point. I personally felt robbed when I learned about these unmade episodes after having watched the show. Watching it after the fact just isnโt the same experience as watching it before the Season 7 finale.
