I have different recommendations depending on how long you want to spend reading, or listening. There is also a lot of really good radical preaching based in material reality from the 1880s-1930's in America and Europe that I think are really good touch stones for the left. I think given the religious nature of some working class communities, getting familiar with these radical traditions and using the Christian elements to establish connections with them is a fairly useful organizing technique. Mileage may vary, but I found for me, in the work that I do, being able to converse in Christian dialogue has opened up doors to help organize that probably wouldn't be there if I couldn't.

That's a great suggestion, I can't speak to Matt but I'm always curious to read about the conditions that developed the bible and Christian history in general, just as much as good radical theology.

Hey, I have quite a few recommendations for various marxist readings of the Bible. It is kind of complicated and there isn't a clear "You should read this person". If you can give me a better idea of what you are looking for specifically, I can help you out. I have done a lot of academic study of the bible, if you are interested I can give you quite a few different books and people to read depending on what you are looking for. If I had to recommend something, I would recommend "The Gospel in Solentiname" which is basically Nicaraguan peasants in the 1980s interpreting sermons and biblical readings. There is a lot of stuff out there though, so it would be good to get a better idea of what you are really going for.
