Magnetic Temple Blocks Bonus Video Preview - Now THIS is MORIA!

Me and Faye have been hard at work on the next video - magnetised Temple Blocks! The connection method seems to work well, we're just in the mass production phase 😂

Meanwhile, I've also been hard at work with Fabio designing the next batch of STLs to make life easier and more detailed :) These photos show WIP images of the 'Brutal' (think mordor, dark elves, chaos, devils etc) and industrial (dwarves, duregar, industrial humans etc) sets of accessories...

More previews - The 'Brutal' Gibbets

Hi guys, 

So, WIP here, the final version will be ever so slightly different (slightly smaller internal spikes, we want prisoners uncomfortable, not impaled!)

This is the first example of the 'brutal' iron set, inspired by mordor, chaos, devils and other such evil, brutal factions.

This is a variant of the cleaner 'industrial' iron set, which you saw the bannerpole WIP from in a previous preview. a pretty heavy variant, but a variant nonetheless!

New Jigs!

Hi Guys, 

Just a quick post to upload this awesome little jig made by Remus for the placing of stairblock magnets, and also this little one by Naroe for making sure your cocktail stick holes are all the same angle, if you still use that method :)

The stairblock one is very interesting because its designed to punch a perfect size hole for the magnet, saving time with the glue gun :)

So now it isn't a secret project anymore I thought I'd share some progress as we go...

The left is the 'Tribal' bannerpole, perfect for orcs, ogres etc. I really like the texture he got for the 'cut' wood at the tips - you can see it a lot more clearly in the STL :)

The middle is the 'industrial' version of the 'brutal' bannerpole - all iron and business. We added the stone bit at the bottom to enable us to fit the magnet holes...

And on the right is the gib...

WELL! After crashing premiere pro while rendering in the heat, accidentally rendering with a stray audio file lying around (And so re-rendering) and spending half a day trying to get that thumbnail right (damn you YouTube...) it's ready!

This video contains a solid stack of techniques I've built up over the past few years that just haven't found their way into videos. Usually because I couldn't find a way to fit them in without dragging the videos on for 40 odd minutes ...

Well, its nearly half an hour long, and I had to go back and add in two whole sections towards the end - but it's pretty much done :) I'm just waiting on some footage from the sponsor (Fabio, who made those lovely STLs for us!) to slot in, and I can get it rendered (after the obligatory Faye-check to make sure I haven't done something stupid...)

I was planning on releasing these at the start of August, but as they're all ready now and this is the first batch I don't see any reason to hold back :)

These were EXPENSIVE to get made (all detailed STLs are) but the artist had to be fairly paid!

I absolutely couldn't afford to do this on my own, and future releases are really dependent on how much support the channel gets at the noble patron tier to pay artists fairly ongoing for STLs like this -

Secret Project Reveal! Good News Everyone! :D

This has been so hard to keep secret! I've been working with a sculptor to have 3d printable STLs made for the system 😁

As you can see, I've started with doors, windows and shutters - these all fit perfectly in the existing magnetic building system (exterior AND interior walls!), they're designed to line up perfectly with foam cut to my templates :)

'Getting Started' lists added to the equipment list!

Another addition - there are now 4 getting started lists in the equipment list with the appropriate links in each. there are some missing like plaster and GSW texture rollers, mainly because I didn't get round to adding them and also mention where to get them in their respective videos. 

Long term I intend to add stuff like that but for now the goal is to get the basics in place :)

Equipment List Update!

Hi guys, 

Just a quick update, I'm working on making the equipment list more organised, smoother to navigate and generally better. Hopefully this will lead to a better experience for you guys, but especially for new people who might get overwhelmed!

I also plan to add a 'getting started' section with lists of stuff people would want for certain projects (stone tiles, grassland, etc) - but that's not quite done yet!

Quick update, editing and a new website!

Hi guys!

So, I've spent much of this weekend working as I recovered from a bad covid patch at the end of last week, making up for lost time so to speak :)

The editing is getting there, its a rather large video (25 minutes) with many small cuts (as usual) so its taking me a while to get everything in place, especially with brain fog. 

Thankfully I'm one of the few in the UK with (portable) air conditioning at home in my workroom (personal necessity, I die in the heat!...

Early notice! I'll be running a paint party on Friday the 15th at 7pm BST, for at least 3 hours, possibly more if I get some support from one of the mods who have the energy/timezone to stay up later than me 😂

Hi Guys!

So we're nearing completion on the secret project, I've had the person I hired to work on it (thanks to your support!) working on a final piece to really spice up the reward for you guys :)

All the pieces are useful, and should make crafting quicker, easier and more detailed - but this final piece is just GORGEOUS and should hopefully be a lot of fun to use in other ways!

I am going to hold back on details until the big reveal but needless to say its a big step ...

So I've been busy all week working on a few different things.
