Gallows Tree (Knight)

From the mottled brown limbs of this towering oak hang the bloated and sallow-fleshed corpses of the guilty, or the unfortunate. Festooned with grisly ornaments, this creature may once have been a mere tree, but is now a devious trap for the unwary, just as the unfortunate souls put to death in its branches are not truly dead, but mere puppets under the creature's control.

Adventurers would do well to ignore the damned, and give them a wide berth, lest they join them among ...

Tinkering with some town/regional perspective for some projects I'm working on, I quite enjoyed putting together something large scale. More to come!

Ruined Homestead (Knight)

This dilapidated home must once have been a refuge from the elements, but no longer. The grounds are neglected, the crops barren, and the house itself lies in ruins.

The question is why?  Perhaps simple abandonment has brought this place low, or a new resident has taken this comfortable home, smashing a door for itself through the Eastern wall, awaiting any that would seek to reclaim it.

I wanted to make a monster lair that is a little atypical and spo...

Grim Grotto (Knight)

The remains of this long-dead spelunker tell a tale of their own, his pack laden with supplies, and his trusty pick, still in pristine condition at his side, suggest a dangerous delve into this placid sanctuary hidden in a pocket below the ridge. His climbing rope lies coiled around him, the cause of his death evident in the severed tip of dry-rotted twine. A break, or perhaps cut by a blunt knife from above as he repelled down to the surface.

 In any case, the s...

Rock Walls Asset Pack (Knight)

I've been tinkering with this for the last month or so and adding bits and shapes, and am pretty happy with it now. The idea has been to make a pack that would allow myself and others to construct a ridge or cliff quickly and easily, and after a few tests, I'm pleased enough to release it. Also, I included some evergreen trees and branches that I put together from modular pieces as an experiment.

Dungeondraft pack included.

Rocky Ridge (Knight)

My second test map for the asset pack I've been building this month, hopefully more comprehensive and useful for adding some verticality to your games. This is the Rocky Ridge, a sloping peak dotted with evergreens, with a small hole in the center, giving a dim peek into a grotto beneath. Time to bust out the rope and climb checks, or at least a handy featherfall scroll.

The Sleeping Giant Inn (Knight)

A bit of nostalgia today, testing out some more rugged and cold-weather assets, cobblestone, and flagstone textures, I decided to put them together into the Sleeping Giant Inn from Skyrim's Riverwood, an iconic location, with a secret base of operations. Perhaps it'll make for an interesting roadside pit stop for you and your party members as well. Just don't shoot the chicken.

Malenia's Boss Room (Knight)

Get your will saves ready. I went full meme mode on this one, having played a lot of Elden Ring, I thought it'd be fun to make a map of the most dreaded boss room in the game, and also one of the most beautiful. Terrorize your players by sending them in here, and if the chips are stacked too highly against them, they can always summon the pot-headed hero to help out.

Trees Redux (Knight)

This one probably took too long to get published. You guys may have noticed that I've been using different versions of these trees in my maps in the last few months as I've tinkered with them, making adjustments, variants, etc. Anyhow, I finally landed on an approach I'm satisfied with, and I figured that I'd just post the pack that I'm working with now for my map-building, especially since I've seen some Knight level supporters pulling different ones from the photoshop documents to use in th...

The Trollskull Manor (Knight)

A friend of mine is running a game of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist for us, and I offered to illustrate our group's Trollskull Manor. Of course, my party decided to make it a maid cafe instead of the typical tavern, so I made both our bizarre variant, and an ordinary tavern style, more appropriate for an average adventure party, as well as an empty building for you to furnish yourself, if you wish!

Mountain's Edge Fortress (Knight)

Tall walls and timbered ballistae loom overhead for any approaching this cliffside fort, a holdfast for the local peasantry when the drums of war bring threats to the land: Invading armies, Orc raiders, or thickly scaled dragons. In such times, few groan about the tax collectors knocking on their doors, and thank their gods for the garrison of trained soldiers on the walls, and the strong doors to keep the wolves at bay.
