Nautiloid (Adventurer)

Raymond Truong's suggestion for this month's ideas post. I took a shot at it, hoping to combine the otherworldly architecture of the Illithids with a usable battlemap space. If you see one of these bizarre combinations of creature and machine, it's usually a bad sign, unless you're a band of intrepid adventurers with a mission to rescue hostages being turned into mind-slaves, and risk becoming one yourself.

November Map Ideas

Post some ideas for what you'd like to see, I'll pick one or two and make them!

Seamless Stonefloor Textures (Knight)

Another entry into the ever expanding (I suspect) seamless texture series. I tested these out a little with the Vigilant's Beacon map, and quite liked them. While seamless texture patterns are much more tedious to make on my end, I've come to really love how expediently useful they are in whipping up a map, and tweaking for different variations. This set I put together for some basic functionality, packed up for dungeondraft users and ready for your tables.

Torture Assets (Knight)

This October's spooky contribution is a selection of torture chamber assets, 88 png bits and bobs with which to decorate your dens of depravity. Hopefully your players won't find themselves on the receiving end of any of these instruments, but as most dungeon masters have discovered, torturing their players is half the fun, and these should make that even easier.

Happy Halloween!

Vigilant's Beacon Interior (Knight)

Winding, candlelit stairs flow down to the warm heart of the beacon above, bunks, tomes, and a moderately-stocked kitchen are welcome respite from the road for most of the faithful, while the more learned might make use of the well-stocked library down below, or seek an audience or assignment at the keeper's quarters.

Some who find their way here, however, are not invited guests or brothers and sisters in arms, but wayward or cursed monstrosities that may well find themselves dra...

Vigilant's Beacon (Knight)

Once upon a time, this snow-covered rise was a wartime fort, fallen into disuse and disrepair. As the decades passed, however, it's found a new use, adopted by a holy order whose devotees have made it a place of protection, rest, and constant watchfulness for those unique enemies of humanity that prowl the night with tooth, claw, and forlorn promise.

True, it's seen better days, but champion's of the faith know that beyond the creature comforts of laden mansions, there are more importan...

Birch Forest Assets (Knight)

This pack and map are part of an attempt to expand and diversify my asset packs, and to provide some more interesting pieces of forest terrain. And just because I think birch trees are really pretty. Hopefully you will too.

Assets are provided in png and dungeondraft packs, along with a sample map demonstrating the sort of thing one can use them for.

Birch Cottage (Public)

This is a demo map comprised of assets I've put out this month in png form and as dungeondraft assets. This sample map I've lovingly called the Birch Cottage, but is a simple example of the type of maps one can produce with the Birch Forest Asset pack, exclusive to patrons.

Seamless Texture Pack (Knight)

This pack I put together with map-makers in mind. These pieces and textures tile seamlessly together, and you may have noticed that I tested them out this month putting together a couple maps to try and capture a hand-drawn and painted quality while being a little less busy or intrusive as my previous attempts at similar projects.

I've also packaged these for Dungeondraft and tested them out in that tool and felt they worked well for the most part (Dungeondraft has limitations on what i...

Town Infirmary (Knight)

The #1 selected map in this month's patron poll, the Town Infirmary. This one was fun to work on, and should provide a sensible place for your party to get their wounds treated after a rough adventure, or perhaps to attend a lecture in the operating theater to bone up on their healing knowledge.

Lycanthrope's Lair (Knight)

Our #2 map for this month's patron poll (at least at the time I began working on it!) is the Lycanthrope's Lair, a dim and winding cavern, shrouded in moss and mushrooms, the dirt floor marred with ever more numerous and deeper rutted clawmarks the further one descends into this burrow, and at the end, a clearing filled with gnarled and broken bones, the only remnants of the resident's satisfied urges.

Norse Buildings - Assets and Dungeondraft Pack (Knight)

As promised, a png pack of 50+ items to design your own Norse Village, with Dungeondraft pack included.

Special thanks to Phil Wright, Dave Rhodes Wilson, and Pierre Livet for their help teaching me how to assemble Dungeondraft packs and pointing me toward some excellent tools for the job.

Norse Village (Knight)

Wrapping up this month, I wanted to put together some viking-themed assets, something I realized I'm lacking pretty significantly in my portfolio (and surprisingly few others have really done much with it either, surprisingly). Either because I've been watching too much Vikings, or just playing too much Skyrim.

At any rate, it should add some flexibility and versatility to the types of villages your players can encounter in their journeys.
