Happy Sunday! :)
Here's how I achieved this dramatic hard light with deep shadows:
1. I'm using the constant light on my flashead with a Magnum Reflector on camera light. The light is 4-5 meters away from the model. Also the light is coming through a doorway which is preventing a huge light spill.
2. Huge black flag on camera left to prevent some of the light bouncing back
PS. The blue tint in the background is becase some daylight is coming through and the constant li...

Hey there, I'm just teasing a few sets of images with Denaya in the works. I have some behind the scenes footage too! Not sure about the videos though, if I manage to edit them in a way I like I'll share them! Stay tuned!
Have a great weekend! :)

Getting this look. I'm using a flash through a 2x2 m scrim (almost 2/3 of the scrim are covered in order to get a thinner strip of light) on camera left and a huge black flag on the right, extremly close to the model, so close you can even see it in one of the images.
PS. Really sorry for the straightforward censorship on the face!

Could not color grade these images in a way I really like for quite some time now. I'm happy with how they look now! How do you feel about so bright highlights and so deep, dark shadows?
PS. You can find more images from this set in Premium.

I really like these images! How brightly they're lit but still don't look too flashy, the soft pastel feel to them... Sadly, after the photoshoot, the model decided she doesn't want us to publish any images to social media. Good news is you get to see them because she's okay with me publishing them here, to my Patreon! Enjoy! :)
A question for the photographers among you - has a model ever decided she doesn't want any of the images published after the shoot?

Happy Saturday to all! :)
A few images from set 2 with badgrlnckl. Lightroom edits only. ( By the way I've posted a few from the first set maybe a week ago, see them here.)
Lighting this set artificially is easier than you might think! You need a powerfull enough light, and space to distance the it from your subject. The further away the light the more defined the shadow edges get. (if you're into pho...

Happy July Morning!
I really wanted to do this type of photoshoot specialy for the first of July but just did not manage to....
My desire to share something sea and sun related today is bigger so I'm sharing these! They're actually from august of 2018! The first #thebodyportrait photoshoot outside and probably one of my favorites to date! The first image will surely be in the exhibition I want to do soon.

Hello again! :)
Following my previous post here's an photo from as latest as possible photoshoot - from yesterday! (some very sad news - I broke a flash doing this set...)
I'm also posting this one as a teaser of what's one of the things you can look forward to next month! I'll share photos from all the sets we did with this amazing girl + behind the scenes materials + notes on the lig...

While working on the new materials I'm also reflecting on the series and how they're evolving.
Here's a little something from when the series where just starting out.

Hey Guys!!
Combining nudity and nature is something I've been exploring these last few weeks. These images are from the first ever shoot I did outside (I did another one outside, will share images from it soon, along with behind the scenes footage).
So far, I'll just say outdoor shoots are harder and at the same time easier to do than indoor shoots. I'll be sharing more thoughts on this in later posts. For now just enjoy the images. Oh, and please, do let me know how you find ...

Dear Patrons, Happy Sunday! :)
What's up with the headline, you might ask. It's nothing special, I was just thinking of a clever way to point out the age of the model in these images. Yes, she's 40 years old. She's also a mother and a successful, working woman. (I am sorry about it but we agreed to keep her identity private thus that's all you'll get know about her, at least for now)
Also, a great little tip about the lighting here - if you look closely, the model is not lit by ...

Am I the only one who is starting to think footage of happy, joyful girls should really become a thing here! I did one with Irina Genadieva, if you haven't done so, do check it out here!
I'll share the realtime posing footage from this photoshoot in my Premium tier soon.
All the best

I'm coming to realize that although editing and retouching can quite improve your final results, and further insert your own vision into the end result, it is not necessary all the time... It seems like learning to work with light and your model will give you better results almost every time!

I mentioned a surprise in one of my last posts... well... this is it! These are all selected images from a set with Denaya, no retouch, only color and tone edits in Lightroom. I'm using this post a test too. Let me know in comments if posts like that interest you.
By the way, I shot this on Fuji XT3 with 16-55 f/2.8 and natural light.

Just a quick nerdy comparison you might find interesting!
Same model, same wall, similar pose. (images are taken 5 minutes apart)
What makes this images different is the position and type of light used - on the left we have indirect natural light coming from a bunch of windows and on the right a 40x60 cm rectangle softbox shining light through a 2x2 meters diffuser.
Windows are about 2-3 meters away from the model and are much bigger in comparison to the diffuser resul...

Pro tip: When models are having fun during shoots it's easier and more joyful for everyone on set!
About this video. November of 2020 is when Nelina and I met for the first time to do a testshoot for #thebodyportrait. Don't know why but I did not bring myself to share images from this shoot, neither here nor on social media, and I really think we did a few amazing ones! I've also completely forgot about this wonderful footage!
As of today I'm working on it! This short video is t...

Just a casual in studio photoshoot with beautiful softlight to compliment the models features. Oh, I have two fun facts to share:
Fun fact 1 - This girl has the biggest breasts I've ever seen/photographed in person!
Fun fact 2 - If you look closely you'll see her tan line, not her bikini.
More images coming soon!

Happy Saturday guys! :)
I've been kind of idle these last few days because I've been meeting with new models and doing in studio testshoots. I'm preparing for more shoots outside. So, expect more sets of this kind - I'm talking rocks, woods, waterfalls, lakes, etc.
I'm also planning a trip to the seaside! I know you appreciate it, I do too, so 'll give it my best to provide more bts video content!
All the best!

First shoot is almost always a testshoot - meeting with the model, explaining what #thebodyportrait is, talking about collaborating discussing ideas and finally capturing a few improvised images…
Well, this testshoot was something else! We did two sets and produced a lot of great images! Really enjoyed working with badgalnckl, she was just amazing! Can't wait to edit our favorite photographs and share them with you guys!

First a testshoot. We meet at my studio, talk about #thebodyportrait series, make a few testshots and if we're all happy with what we're hearing we discuss how to proceed next.
This is my process now. Yes, it's more time investing but proving to be a lot more productive for everyone envolved.

Happy Saturday to you all! Here's the long awaited studio photoshoot with Mrs. Bagdarsaryan.
Check out the last image! It's meant to serve as bts, I took it while Danny was practising posing. Do look closely, you should be able to get a pretty good feel of what it's like during a photoshoot like this. Everything you need to know about how I achieved the look is also there. Any questions on that and posing are more then welcome!

This time I'm going backwards - first the bts/posing video and after the images we got.
Here I'm using a rectanglesoftbox through a 2x2m scrim (just a big diffuser) to get as big of a lightsource as I can. Also, I'm blocking half of the scrim to get a more directional light. Everything else is posing her the best way I can.
PS. Sorry fot the video quallity, it's really dark in the studio during this set.

The weather in Bugaria is starting to warm up, finally! I've contacted a few new girls and we're goind to be doing a lot of shoots outside - city streets, woods, rocks, waters, basically everywhere. Also, I'll be doing a lot of behind the scenes videos.
I've been wanting to do this type of shoots for some time now and am very excited! There'll be plenty of new materials and announcements (HINT: Online Store) new month, hope you'll stay tuned.

Let's talk mood and light! Light first! I wanted a lot of sensuallity to radiate from this short setof photographs . In order to achieve a more sensual, feminin feel I use the natural soft light coming from the big windows on camera right (No direct sunlight, we're in shade).
Enhancing the mood. To give the images a more dramating finish, during editing, I darken the midtones and shadows a lot, making them more deep and pronounced.
