Leo enters the arena in this new animation. I feel like I have gotten the hang of the new hair system now and Leo is the perfect candidate to show it off. I messed up the settings in the first rendered frames which is why the hair flutters around a bit in the video clip, but quickly found the solution to make it more stable.

Intro Dylan (First Animation Tests)

I have finished building my new PC and tried it out on some quick animations. Rendering is a lot faster now so I might look into adding some more complex animations to the novel and as extra benefits. For now I will try to get a hang of it in Character Intros in the coming weeks of all the new characters making their first appearance in chapter 3.

Update + New Character Preview

Here is a quick preview of one of the new characters being introduced in chapter 3 with a few more being in the works. 

I am currently wrapping my head around the new hair geometry nodes in Blender so I am still trying things out for especially the finer detail hair. I might also make the switch to the new hair system for the older characters along the way just to keep everything consistent.

Chapter 2 Release Schedule

Chapter 2 early access is here! 4k words, 2 new characters and 4 additional rooms in 383 new images. There has also been an update to the common room and I've added a chapter select screen.

There are some slight inconsistencies with eye and hand placements, render artifacts and the common room has not been updated in the first chapter. Those things will be patched out in following minor releases though and should not pose to distracting if you do not look for them.

Chapter 2 Release

Chapter 2 is here! 4k words, 2 new characters and 4 additional rooms in  383 new images. There has also been an update to the common room and I've added a chapter select screen.

Really happy with all the progress I have made. Things are really starting to take off. As mentioned before chapter 3 will see more characters added so look out for teasers in the next few weeks.

March Roadmap

Hey everyone,

I wanted to drop another update and the roadmap for this March. Progress on chapter 2 is still going steady. The lighting in the upcoming rooms did not lend itself particularly well to my previous render settings with low samples and denoising. The denoiser did produce a bit too many artifacts for my liking while also changing the colors too much. Increasing the light sample amount makes for an easy fix though. This increases the time for each render, but as I can let that...

Behind The Scenes (Chapter 2)

Quick Update - Dressing Room + Pool WIPs

Hey, just here to drop a quick update on chapter 2 progress. I am finished with the writing and the dimensions of all the new rooms are set so I can now start with posing and rendering for cg artworks. I added some screenshots of the dressing and pool room. Probably later this week I will also post some full renders once I have tweaked the last details.
