Hey guys!

Back to signing today at the big bookstore Espace Culturel de Leclerc KA'BART Le Portail Saint Leu in my island.

At  2pm to sign my  brand new comicbook, the thrid installement of my french comicstrip  "Mate ces échecs !" (translated as "Check that, Mate!"), plus the two  first books, plus the "Bad Bearry" comicbook that got some pages in english were published here.

Vinny Castillo waiting (public version)

As you may notice, I'm training into a new rendering based on traditional drawing with inking, using various pencils + digital colors  with vectors, giving a cell-shading rendering. 

I refered to a picture of the porn actor Vinny Castillo. I might create a hairy variation too. For once, the smooth is live first!

Vinny Castillo waiting (NSFW)

As you may notice, I'm training into a new rendering based on traditional drawing with inking, using various pencils + digital colors with vectors, giving a cell-shading rendering. To me, it looks million miles away from my graphite rendering, but still you recognize the anatomy, the way I draw male figure. The fingers crossing is damn hard to render, all the more inking this way. I almost felt I was more free when drawing with graphite tools!

Ready to make a fire! (Step by step)

Loved to create his outfit! Well, actually it's a re-invention of one of my tanktops from 2xist and my white capripant. I thought the white outfit would contrast nicely with such body. I used different references as this pose I had in mind wasn't easy to draw.

I went for a very simplified background, cause the ones on the previous pages took me SO LONG, and here again to contrast with the character's outfit.

LUST 2 comicbook in my hands!

Well, more like the press proof, for me to check everything's fine. That why you see a sticker on the cover which is not with the brillant finish, like the backcover. It's gonna happen on the final printed copies. Speaking of the cover, I'm not 100% satisfied with the printing: too red & dark, I asked them to correct it so let's cross fingers together!

My patrons voted for the pin-up on the backcover, you got a hint on which character made it ;-) Stay tuned for more infos regarding LUST co...

Waiting for... Hump Day (Color remix)

Finally I made the alternate version, and it looks waaaayy different for the original full inked version. As I made a scan for each step, I reserved the lines only for this special version. The colors are vector ones, matching a rendering very comics, or bande dessinée belge in french. 

I love how you gotta simplify, cut the zones, it's far away from my realistic graphite rendering. Bonus: it's actually much faster XD

Facing the scream (step by step)

A good way to see this panel in a higher resolution. Loved to build his pose here and the vertical set up with the huge scream.

As usual with such panel, the hard & long part was drawing all that jungle!

LUST comicbook 2 "Beach on Fire!" cover revealed

Finally I share it first with you, dear patrons! I had to wait to be sure it's gonna be printed. I struggled the two last couple of weeks with the french printer, but it's going in their hands next week, FINALLY! 

The official launch should be november 3rd at the 7th LGBT Art & comics comiccon in Paris. Will talk about this later.

Lately I have a thing for kneeled poses, coming from the Deimos comic. Also I noticed I draw lots of full-lenght bodies, and it's really interesting, not quite easy to render, though. You'll see what I mean tomorrow with page 3 ;-)

National coming out day

Waiting for... Hump Day

It's inktober! You know many artists are challenged to do an inked artwork everyday of october following a theme. I never followed it, but each time it makes me draw again with ink, so here we go!

I built a step by step for this, so that you'll see a different variation, colorfull and no hand shading like this. I clearly lack of training with ink pens, butt the pose is on point for hump day! What do you think?
