Back to some booth promoting & signing by books, tomorrow & saturday, at the 2 coolest bookstores I ever got a chance to feature (and I've been to quite a few). They sell & promote my LUST comicbooks like no other, and I just learned I need to bring back some copies as the serie is almost sold-out!
This is more good news as I just sent the french digital version of LUST 3, very soon to get published by Dynamite / La Musardine. And more to come with them next year!

So the outfits are not the ones I really wanna see but it's a good practise, showing a bit of what I've learned lately. Next one will involve less clothing, hehe!

This one is full page, and as it shows in the process, I decided to gain little time by not finishing the background areas where I knew the other panels will come on top. That leaves a strange finished big panel which is interesting to see. You get the original sketchy thing compared to all the work needed for the final stuff.
In the current page 6 I'm working on, I got some more jungle bits to show in some key panels, I really like to draw it, although it's very time consuming.

Just couldn't wait to show you all this one. Originally I went for something BIG so here it is (sorry for the silly title BTW). Just like another one inked drawing coming soon, I realized here I tend to give little heads, dunno why! So it increased much more how thick they even look.
As you may see I'm using different thickness for the ink pencils, it's pretty cool as I get to the highly light lines like for the face and body hair, lil muscle,...

As you know I've been busy the past week promoting my art & comics during a 4 days comiccon. The last day I had the chance to sign lots of LUST comics, I'm so happy about it, ha!
During that time I practiced a lot my inking, it actually drives people to you. I had good feedbacks, even 2 professional guys telling me I should go for the manga format for my next project involving inking. I'm not sure about the outcome, as I give it a thought, but I'm more comfortable with the US comic ...

Tomorrow is the start of 4 days signing all my comicbooks at the biggest comiccon where I live: La Réunion island. On sunday I will be there for the CLX material, including the very mature audience oriented comicbooks LUST 1, 2 & 3!
I almost finished page 5 from LUST #4, I hope to post this one tomorrow night, the panels are all gorgeous, so happy & proud! :-D

It's delivered! I finally got my hands on the comic we created with Patrick Fillion for Class Comics, and it's gorgeous!! I wanted to show again the original set up from the last episode, so I had to play with depth of field and big background. Seeing the process you get a pretty good impression of how long this one was to draw. But it's worth it, I like to show different views & framing in the comic.

A good practice for the inking too, don't ya think? I like the all NOIR version, but I show you the white original one too.

As I told commenting the page, this panel ended up wrong, fucked up a bit the proportions. The process here shows I did correct them at the very end, it was past the shading I realized my mistakes. Sometimes you bet you got the perfect reference and posing for what you have in mind and it goes wrong!
Well, it's not that bad as far as I can tell, but I had to rework & rethink it the right way to improve this.

For this throw back thursday, this is a nice take on the perspective play. I like the guy, although he's got a tiny tiny hand, haha! I remember practicing my skills on the background, water.
Just updated this oldie playing with photo filters, it's fun how it can render with my signature graphite rendering.

Hop, right on time to celebrate Hump day, this is the final version for this smelly jockstrap!
The drawing + inking were traditional but I had to filter & alter the scan to get rid of the flaws in the much too light sheet of paper.
Couldn't resist to play with a tanline, hehe! I also like the graphic play with the beard, stubble on the sides/back of the head and then hair. I guess I'd like to have a comic character sporting this. We'll see!

The original traditional drawing, scanned before drawing on this the sweat, the additional wounds & the blood. I don't do it since the start of chapter 4 but when I saw the final result in progress, I knew I wanted to use it for promotion.
