The full sketched page shows how far I went in the preparation there: very detailled for that stage, even by my own standards! The pressure was high, I wanted the final explosion to be fireworks there!
As usual, I did correct some muscle, looks & anatomy here & there with the next main stage: the line.

It's getting smoother & quicker with the cross-hatching technic. I thought I could only give you the sketch or the simple ink rendering, but I managed to do the full shading on both the character & the background with this specific new technic.
This is really growing on me & I feel like it's gonna work so well in the new comic. So excited!

It's been a while since the sketch, but this is the final inked version, including background test & the now familiar cross-hatching shading. This specific illustration could be a panel of the next comic: it's the closest thing to what I have in mind. I will probably test colors on this one later.

Here is our lovely baby cuming all over his body! Without the body hair the panel seems lighter indeed, plus we see all the detailled anatomy. Some would say I went a bit far there, I might have gotten carried away!

Practicing intensively inking & cross-hatching!
I really dig this illustration, the character demands such rendering. I still gotta get use to the very visible patterns it gives, the intense dark mood too. It's easy to go too dark, all the more for me as my taste leans towards dark & darker! I guess that's why my latest panels in LUST are darker than the first chapter 4 pages, I just force more on the graphite tools, silly me!

I worked hard (obviously!) on this page and did another creative process, for a very deserving panel. I loved to play with the foreground and all the dripping around, hehe! Still their passionate kiss elevates it all for me.
The true difficulty is the perspective, as always with such angle. And don't think it gets easier with time & practice: you get less scared to go for these poses, but so many things can go wrong and mislead you that you can ruin the whole drawing in a blink. So ...

Blast from the past: I cherish this illustration as it paved the way for a certain LUST comic character called Silk! I remember at that time being shy with drawing black men, I was afraid of not giving justice to their amazing skin, messing up with the shading. Sometime you gotta face your fears & when you pass them, you can do amazing things!
This throw back thursday illustrates a huge step in my game. Also, I just love going for armpits, although it's very tricky!

I need to get back to my Procreate folder & edit the vids for you folks, I tend to forgot the older stuff (although this one's recent LOL).
You can see in the vid at some point I was unsure: black & white, black solid shading... colors? Well it's a long process and you have to get along with yourself when experimenting, hehe!!

My dear friend Patrick Fillion wrote in a commentary that my digital sketching is very close to an inking rendering ; himself even inks directly, I'm so impressed! Finally here after the shadows, the test colors with such ink rendering, with tons of cross hatching. I dig the global result, but I guess I must find a way to go less dark here. I enjoyed trying out some very good tools offered by the Procreate app: it really helps you out through the process.

Only the light graphite lines here and in this case it all mixes up oddly. Just as they are mixed up together!

A throw back thursday playing with the photo filters enhancement for this repost, green Vs. sepia. I remember wanting a face a bit different for this one. I also got a thing for the wood, I like to render this with the graphite tools: perfect fit.
Oddly this hasn't come to the LUST comic series (barely in the trees, bamboos), maybe in the future. And it won't be coming into the new project as it's hard sci-fi & all digital ink!

I already show a good creative process from this page, as I guess there are 3 panels up for it, hehe! I know some of you folks are fans of these variations, it's true they show a new perspective on the panels.
I also seem to have forgotten another one from page 18, gotta remember to post it too. It takes time to create as I need to scan the same sheet at each single stage to show you the whole process, it would be a shame to let this one aside.

An old step by step from an early page of LUST chapter 4 I decided to test for a video process. This is one of my fav drawing of our hero, I'm glad I tested this coloring process back in time.
If you remember he had multiple variations, one without all the wounds, sand and sweat on his body & face, I kept these here, true to what actually happens in the comic.
