The vid from this artwork focuses on the inking, how I handled the hair, hehe, and the simple thin line art all enhanced with thicker lines after. That became my signature inking, I guess :-)

A process video from my take you wanted of the gorgeous actor. When you watch this one, you spot I redo the sketch with the will to publish it as a first rendering, then I go for the inking. It was a bit of double work here, can see that when I did twice the beard!
I really enjoy the end result, although I had in mind to perform some colors, but didn't find the time.

Something interesting for this throw back thursday, to compare with the previous post featuring digital shading: here it is very traditional, from 3 years ago & the difference shows, beyond the obvious progress I made through time. I remember stop using that paper, the texture was too visible to my taste, and not that easy to work with.
The colors were added digitally in Photoshop.
Not my favorite, but a cool view on some gorgeous black man body.

For this Hump Day I decided to rethink the digital approach of the graphite rendering, here again I wanna unite my classic signature rendering, graphite on paper, with the tools I've learned to use, Procreate & Ipad Pro.

With this black art page, you definitely can observe the high details on the dick & balls in panel 4. In the rest of the page too, hehe, but here it seems I was very... focused! Truth is I'm always mesmerized with my friend Patrick Fillion & how he's able to magnify such details. It's very inspiring, I guess it shows. ;-)

A serious move from our hero in the cell at this point: some like it rough, some don't. ^^ The notable thing to catch is the duplication of the hair spots during the inking. This is one of the lil tricks I get with digital stuff to gain some *very little* time in the process.
I'm really fond of their contrast: naked Vs. leather. But as you know now, this won't last ;-)

What a fantastic hump day! I didn't think I'd go that far with this study of a lovely hairy ass, but I got carried away & tried & learned some stuff for the rendering, so I'm super happy!
First with the result, then drawing some body hair again (well, some... lots!), and the progress I made with the inking, giving little sense of shadows (4th image) before true smooth shadowing (2nd image). I also show you the *basic* full inking, last image.

As a departure from the inking, I got some hard times on the shadows: inspired by the work on Nightcrawler, I wanted to retry such hard shadows and I can't help myself from going a bit too far. This kind of rendering is a delicate balance. I still have "Sin City" in mind. Well, somehow I'm gonna get the right recipe!

Did you ever wonder how this very capable mutant pleasure himself? That's how I approached this fanart, and this is my answer!
And this illustration is one of the rare art where I'm able to outdo what I did have in mind haha! I'm especially happy with the shadowing & the colors, yes, as I look closely at comics references & a very cool fx for the BAMF!
About the shadows, I like how I better mixed black solids & parts of hatching. Gotta work more on this rendering...

In this page, we see the coloring adds the deeper volume in these extreme perspectives, especially in panel 1, where I find it harder to read without the colors. If published in black & white, such panels would need a bit of rework to refine the perspective.
As usual, it's also here you can lurk on the high details in the making, like the shadows with cross-hatching, hehe!

After the complete sketch comes the inking, I serve it also as a black & white high contrast rendering here cause, well, I like it, with the double contour white, which enhances the black inking around the body.
