Also, one of the most awkward things when modeling is not knowing what to do with your hands, so I wanted to take a second to say I'm really proud of all the examples this set shows of what you can do with your hands. Notice that no two hand poses are the same 😂

Old film set with @mel.green13 and @agapealways. I've loved having the opportunity to both model with and shoot Mel, and David was one of my first friends in the photo community. We get each other, and it comes out like this.

It may not look like much, but this room has so many memories. It was my Grandmother and Grandfather's room before I was born. When I was little, it was where my grandmother would sit at her vanity and moisturize her face and where we'd go through her "treasures". Okay, so these were wayyyy harder than I thought. I knew having a white background might not turn out well, since double exposures show up better in the dark spots (as you'll see). I also shot one set on the wrong iso, making them extra over exposed. A lot of the frames overlapped, which I don't really have a solution for yet, as they started out aligned and slowly got worse. I managed to salvage a handful to post here, but I'm going to try again! Wish me luck.

It takes about 2 hours to get this amount of images with tintype. Setting up, preparing the tin, taking the photo, and then developing it. It's a fun process (that includes cyanide as one of the developing chemicals, yikes!) and makes me feel like I've traveled back in time.

My first nude shoot ever. I laid in the grass while dusty painted me and then we ran around the trees and beach feeling magical and free. This was the shoot that made me realize how intune with my body I feel when I'm creating in the nude.

When I saw this poem by one of my fav writers, I knew I wanted to do a rope recreation of the illustration. So I took 10 plant pots (cuz for some reason i already own at least 10 empty plant pots) and filled them with fake plants I ordered from amazon. I got dressed up and did my makeup to go out, and plans got canceled. So I took the opportunity to take a bunch of selfies. In contrast to my post earlier today, I was shooting in really crappy light. But it feels good to create in any condition.

Let's be real for a moment. I had a pretty weird fucking day. And not the good kind. So I decided to give you this set we did in an ice cream shop in New York. I had my first appointment to get my butt tattoos removed yesterday. People keep asking me why. The short answer is I don't want them. The long answer is they were done with a knife and ink and I was told they'd fade within the year, and they didn't. I had a few shots left on a roll of film and these dried eucalyptus branches and baby's breath left over from a bouquet and some lace left over from who knows what project. Made a makeshift studio in a corner of my room using fabric over my bathroom door (can you spot the door handle?) and my sweater over a stepping stool.
