NEW VID: Kim's 50 Favourite USA Finishers

At last, the first video of 2025 is here! Sorry that it's been a bit of time between new videos -- December wasn't just busy with Christmas and everything, I was also unwell for a lot of it with the vicious flu/bronchitis/whatever that seems to be going around everywhere. However, after a whole lot of work, this video is done -- it's a little over an hour of me talking about my 50 favourite American finishers, featuring everything from classics that everyone knows to some great indie gems. NEW VID: The Unreleased Arcades of Atari Games, 1984-2000

The 2nd half of our look at Atari's unreleased arcade games takes us from 1984 to 2000, with plenty more interesting titles. The cancelled sequel to Primal Rage, the origins of Area 51, a failed sequel to Marble Madness, the ultra-cheesy Danger Express, a game based on Beavis and Butt-Head...there's all this and plenty more. Enjoy!

THUNDER QUEEN BATTLE: The Greatest Iron Match of All Time

On July 31st 1993, 8 of AJW and JWP's greatest talents got together in a JWP ring for a 60-minute Iron Woman bout unlike no other -- the New Dimension 8 Queens, usually known as the Thunder Queen battle. We'll be looking at this match and just what makes it one of the greatest ever, and there's a few other bouts to cover on the card too. Enjoy!

NEW VID: The Unreleased Arcade Games of Atari Inc. (1976-1984)

Atari have an absolutely huge amount of arcade games in their vaults that never got released, and while they certainly haven't all been leaked for everyone to play, quite a few have. This vid is full of stories about a whole lot of these games from 1976 to 1984, whether they're dumped or undumped. Enjoy!

NEW VID: Bob Backlund in Battlarts: The Strangest Tournament Ever

I forgot to cover Bob Backlund in Battlarts in a previous vid, so now I'm rectifying that. It's kind of a blessing as we get to cover the Battlarts B-Cup! A strange tournament which will see as big a styles clash as it gets: Backlund against The Great Sasuke, and plenty more besides. There's a lot of cool matches, a chance to talk a lot about Battlarts, and some fun factoids. Enjoy!

NEW VID: 10 Mastertronic ZX Spectrum Childhood Favourites

It's another Mastertronic vid, and this time it's some games that I loved as a child! We've got Spectrum games like Werewolves of London, 180, Zub and Kikstart 2 here...games that aren't all the best, but they were gold for me back in the day. Enjoy!

NEW VID: Pro Wrestling Received Wisdom

There was an interesting thread on Twitter where people shared examples of received pro wrestling wisdom that they'd found, over the years, to be bullshit. I thought it'd be interesting to share a few examples of these things that people simply took as read over the years and give my own thoughts on them. Enjoy!

NEW VIDEO: Amiga Ghosts 'n' Goblins Ripoffs

It's another new one, and this one's appropriate for the season: We have 7 ripoffs of Ghosts 'n' Goblins/Ghouls 'n' Ghosts to look at, all playable on YOUR Amiga (whatever form that may take). There's the more famous likes of Beyond The Ice Palace kicking about, but there's also the truly fearsome games like Belial and Night Walk. Not to mention the work of one Kyle Hodgetts. And will we find anything good here? Er....well, enjoy!

NEW VIDEO! Interesting Places in Manchester + PLAY Expo Blackpool

I did another video covering my trip for PLAY Expo Blackpool 2024, with a few days in Manchester thrown in! This one's a bit different to previous ones that have kinda centred around pubs and bars in Manc -- here I'm looking at places like the National Football Museum, Science and Industry Museum, Affleck's and other cool things you should visit if you ever go there. And of course, we're going back to the Norbreck once again for the Expo and another weekend by the seaside. Enjoy!

NEW VIDEO: The MASTERS of the POWERBOMB

It's a new video! The first new vid at the new home of Kim Justice, in fact. This is a little wrestling video that's all about the Powerbomb -- 29 of my favourite powerbomb-based moves, ranging from the classics to a whole load of variations, old and new. Enjoy, and thanks for keeping patience as I've made this move. :)

Updates! Final 3 Days of Arcade Decades + Other things

Hey hey! Just thought i'd share a quick update now that the latest video is up on Patreon. Hopefully you're having fun with those 90's Konami arcades.

First off, the Arcade Decades Kickstarter campaign is coming to a close! It all finishes at Monday 10pm (my time). It's been one hell of a ride, certainly something I've been very proud of, and really happy to see that the book's excited so many people. We're still aiming for that £70,000 stretch goal, hopefully we'll make it. As ...

NEW VIDEO: Konami's Arcade Games, 1990-1996

Finally, it's more Konami arcade action! The 1990's Konami video features a lot more in the way of classic games with stuff like The Simpsons, Sunset Riders, X-Men, Bishi Bashi Championship and all that everywhere you look, but there's also some really great lesser known titles here as well. Hopefully you enjoy this one! :)

MONSTER RIPPER: Joshi's First Great Monster Heel

Monster Ripper was the first in a long of line of big Joshi beasts -- without the Canadian, there may not have been a Dump Matsumoto, Bull Nakano, or Aja Kong. Rhonda Sing's career deserves a full lookback, because there's a whole lot more to it than Bertha Faye. Enjoy!

NEW VIDEO: The Story and Games of GOTTLIEB

Here's something that's come together quickly, and it's a proper documentary. Here, we're going fully into the world of Gottlieb -- and that's so much more than video games, it's pinball too. There's a lot of pinball, a lot of Q*bert, various corporate irritations (including the dreaded Mylstar name change) and a general story of just what sort of effect the North American crash could have. A lot to go through, and it's been a pleasure to put together. Enjoy!

Kim Justice's Top 50 Puroresu Finishers of All Time

It's a new wrestling video! And today it's a simpler and more fun one -- my 50 favourite finishers from the world of Puro! There's older and newer stuff, men and women, acrobatic feats and nasty super-finishers...all sorts! And a few little tidbits here and there. Enjoy!

NEW VIDEO: Kim's 50 Favourite 80's Arcades

It's another new 'un, and it's just a quick little thing really. I thought it'd be fun to make a video all about my personal favourite 50 80's Arcades during this big ol' period of pushing Arcade Decades. Plenty of classics here as well as other treasures! Enjoy.

There should also be more in the way of wrestling coming next week -- sorry that's been a lil' thin on the ground.

NEW VID: From Atari Arcades to the ZX Spectrum + A BIG Thank You!

Hey, it's a new video! Today's one is all about conversions of arcade games to the Speccy -- and this time it's Atari. There's a bunch of classics here, some ridiculously over-ambitious ones, a few notable clones, the odd shocker, a little look at Atari publishing their own conversions, a couple of unreleased games...there's even a brief detour into the land of the SAM Coupe! It's the biggest Arcade to Spectrum video yet, and hopefully you enjoy it.

Also, I did want to put anoth...

NEW VIDEO: COOL PS2 Reboots of Sad Old 80's Arcades

Here's a new video for you all! Today we're looking at 10 reboots of sad old git 80's arcades -- attempts at making these names cool again that are...well, variable to say the least. While we've got some pretty fine ones in the shape of Nightmare of Druaga, Rygar and Pac-Man Rally, some of the reboots here for Space Invaders, Spy Hunter and Final Fight?...yeah, they can be quite cringey. Enjoy!

NEW VID: All About Big Dave's 5 Star Ratings

Yes, it's a video about Dave Meltzer's 5 Star Ratings -- a very uncontroversial subject. This video dives a bit into the history of star ratings for wrestling, but in the main it wonders just why everyone still gets so heated about this one man's opinion, to the point of throwing around attacks, insults and conspiracies. Enjoy!

NEW VID: The A-Z of Namco's Classic Arcade Games, 1993-1999

NEW VIDEO: The Best Of THE LARIAT

Another video that may give you a pain in the neck...this is a simple one -- paying tribute to the lariat, one of wrestling's most enduring and most impactful finishing moves, by looking at 18 of its best and most famed practitioners. We've got a lot of damn good lariats here, both classic as well as modern. So enjoy!

Apologies for the lack of a vid this week

Hey everyone, just wanted to quickly apologise for not having a vid of some sort out -- I don't usually like to miss. I've just kind of lost the track of time this week -- admittedly there has been an abundance of sport (particularly the football!), and I'm also in the process of giving up smoking, which has made me even more distracted than usual. All should return to normal next week -- I'm hoping to next wrestling vid out on Tuesday, which should be a little celebration of all things Laria...

ALIENS: NEOPLASMA 1 and 2 - Modern ZX Spectrum Classics

It's a new video! Today we're looking at Aliens: Neoplasma 1 and 2, two great new Speccy games from the Sanchez crew. The first one was a little side project from 2019 that caused an awful lot of waves, and now we've got the sequel which was released in May...and honestly, it's one of the best Spectrum games I've ever seen. Definitely worth a look. Enjoy!

NEW VIDEO: 4 Would-Be "Next Big Things" from WWE + TNA

It's new wrestling vid time! So, this is the final and significantly rejigged version of a video that appeared briefly and was centred a lot more around Brock Lesnar -- I've kinda minimised that now in places where it's not necessary. This vid features 4 big guys from the 2000's who got pushed, for a time, as potentially new athletic monster heels; we've got Matt Morgan, Mark Jindrak and Vladimir Kozlov from WWE, as well as Trytan from TNA. All four ended up failing pretty badly, but it's cer...

NEW VIDEO: Football Glory and the Origins of Croteam

Hey! Its a new vid, one that's appropriately football themed. Football Glory is actually one of the very first games I covered on the channel, and I thought I'd revisit it to further see the reactions of those who thought it was far too close to Sensible Soccer, as well as a look at publishers Black Legend and, crucially, developers Croteam -- this was their first game, they're still around today and they'd go on to great things. NEW VIDEO: The Arcade Games of Namco, Part 2: 1986-1992

It's the 2nd part of the big look at Namco's arcades! Hey everyone! It's a new wrestling video, and today we're looking at 4 American wrestlers' work in Japan -- these certainly aren't as well known as the likes of Stan Hansen or the Funks, but there's some quite curious stuff here. PATREON EXCLUSIVE VID: Why is Antonio Inoki So Angry?

Hey everyone. Time has unfortunately been a little against me this week, but I have been able to do this quick little something -- it's a look at the ill-fated match between Luke Gallows and The Predator in IGF, 2011. The match that made Antonio Inoki so furious that he came down to the ring and stopped it in hilarious fashion! I've watched it in full and...yeah, it's understandable -- but there's a bit more here than it just being a bad match, because the gimmicks add a whole other layer. View Post
