Preamble 

I think I am more nervous to share this story with you all than I was to put out my first YouTube video. I don't know if it is good, but it is meant to be me stretching my writing muscles.

I ended up doing a lot of research into the steelmaking process and used maybe 1% of it. Turns out reading about the making of steel is not exactly great fantasy story material. Good use of a massive amount of the 48 hours I gave myself :P

Finished last night

So the challenge was hard. I am very nervous to post it, but that is not going to stop me. I am going to review what I wrote after work today, then post it tonight.

A day late, but I’m still really proud even if it’s bad. This is the first thing I ever wrote and completed like this!

For obvious reasons, the ending of my book has been on my mind a lot. Seeing the downfall of the Game of Thrones TV show legacy over the last week has been fascinating. I knew sticking the landing was important, but it seems like if you drop the ball, the fans will be out for blood.

Upcoming Videos

So I am going on vacation for a 8 days, but I did not want to leave you beautiful people without content for that long. As a result, I have been working double time to have a backlog of videos to release in that time.

New Character... The I. V. Niri

Your character release is the ship a large portion of this book will take place on. The I. V. (Imperial Vessel) Niri. My goal is to make this ship feel like a character in the story. After reading several writings from ship captains or crew members of war vessels, they all seem to talk about their ship as if it were a living breathing thing they have to deal with. I LOVE this.

Book Update - Scrapped Ideas

As many aspiring writers do, I have had many bad ideas while writing this story. Let's go into some of them now! 

1. Talking monkey companion. Yeah, let's get the worst idea out of the way first. What I am writing is fairly dark in tone; darker than I think a lot of people are expecting. Theme and setting

So I have to find a careful line with what I reveal here. I do not want to show my compete hand and have my end product to be something that everyone can see coming due to how much of a "sneak peek" I have let out.

That being said I want to bring you an insight into certain elements I have decided to assist in the formation of some wider theme/setting of what is being written.

In my experience, the idea of blind loyalty to a figure is usually assigned to a stories "evil" elements....

What are your opinions on sentient animal characters?

Do not read to much into this. It is related to my book, but more just kinda deciding if/how to approach this. ANY and ALL thoughts welcome. 

Theme

I have been thinking a lot about how to tackle the wider theme of my story. It is very difficult to tell as the writer if what I am doing will come across way to blunt, or if I am just over thinking it. 

There is also the consideration of how much should theme drive the story? Should the theme dictate the direction entirely, or should it take a back seat to me telling the story I want to tell?

Hey all! 

I just wanted to keep you posted on what I have been doing behind the camera a bit for the channel. 

Mainly the changes have been minor cosmetics. Sound padding is now around the room, which when I am editing the sound makes a HUGE difference.

In addition to that, I have begun trying out different cameras (pushing for 4k), but so far have not sound one I love. It is going to take a bit of time. This will be a big purchase, which I could not even come close to ma...
