Hi, this is a small release containing automatic nipple clipping prevention for clothing profiles, split left and right nipple erection sliders, and a few fixes.
Update post with more detailed notes, and a video demoing the nipple clipping prevention: https://hub.virtamate.com/resources/naturalis.33647/update/58848/

Just wanted to shed some light on what I'm currently working on.
I've made some progress on replacing the soft physics mesh with an entirely custom mesh. Building on top of the work done by Stopper on inner vagina soft physics, I can create and enable custom soft physics meshes for both breasts and glutes, and use them as drop-in replacements for the default ones...

Happy 2024 everyone! I hope the year is off to a great start.
I will update the Hub post tomorrow, it'll just have the same video and summarize changes so far relative to v1.2, so probably nothing new to current subscribers who have more or less kept up with the v1.3 release notes so far. 😅
Beta 1 release notes
Summary:
The Mesh Pressure feature has been enhanced with various optimizations. Improvements to calibration include unified calibration for both Tit...

Summary
This update improves how pressure is calculated, making it more natural and automatically adapt to the amount of Fat Spring. It fixes an issue with the glute soft physics not updating when adjusting the soft physics parameters, along with some minor/cosmetic issues.
Full notes
Improvements to the pressure implementation:
- Improved the way pressure is calculated from joint depth using a cubic relationship between depth of a joint and the amount of force...

This contains fixes to breaking bugs and a few other issues in the previous alpha:
- fixed person atom crashing when disabling depth physics and local distortion physics was not enabled
- fixed broken clothing profile support and silent breaking bug when loading a profile
- fixed issue where TM/BM would start in a calibration pending state after loading a scene
- fixed issue where disabling depth physics or local distortion physics did not properly reset the phy...

Patching things up and other small changes.
Naturalis 1.2 is essentially a release you can fall back on in case there are issues with the v1.3 alpha or if you want to use the version that will become free sooner. V1.2 will become free when v1.3 is complete (which is still quite a way's away). Generally though I think v1.3 is definitely worth using even as an alpha! Also, to be clear, all of the fixes in v1.2.1 are also present in v1.3-alpha4 (some of those were already released pr...

Changes
Improved the way that friction drops off towards zero as hard colliders move away from the volume. Previously, friction only started dropping if the collider protruded outside of the skin, this was based on specific skin vertices and didn't work properly for some areas like the lower glute edge. Now, friction also drops with distance from the average position of all colliders. Glute colliders closer to the outer edge also have less friction than colliders near the center as a ...

Ok, I think I've made enough progress now to release another alpha. (Still no v1.3 Hub post.)
I'm gonna ramble a bit about the pressure implementation for anyone interested:
The internal pressure system, called Mesh Pressure in the main UI window and in user preferences, is basically fully functioning though possibly somewhat unpolished. The implementation very much depends on the morphing system to produce the changes in shape that you're used to seeing. Mesh pressure is just a l...

Let's start off Naturalis v1.3 with a couple of surprises! I know you guys are waiting for the pressure implementation - it's up next. It's definitely a bigger implementation than anything included in this release, there's much work to be done, and I wanted to get some of the smaller and easier stuff out of the way first.
And the surprises are:
1. New physics parameter: Rotation Inertia
2. Softness can be adjusted independently between soft physics and joint physics, giving ...

Alright, v1.2 is now considered done. This is a soft launch, I will update the Hub post once I have made a new features showcase video and updated the documentation.
Changes
Ignored clothing items
I went through all of the freely available clothing items on the Hub that were irrelevant to the plugin but weren't correctly region tagged, and manually added them to an exclusion list.
As a result, about 1000 free items are no longer shown in the Clothing...

Changes:
- optimizations to reduce memory overhead of the overlay itself - only update the overlay if the displayed value has changed since the last interval
- reduced all default decimal places by 1 (frame rate: 0, frame time: 1, heap size: 1)
- added a color picker to set the color of the overlay
About the plugin's own memory overhead
The overlay's own impact on heap size is not zero, but it's very minimal. Using default settings in...

Performance Overlay is a little utility session plugin that can be used in place of the built-in performance monitor.
I wanted to be able to monitor the heap memory use more accurately in order to more easily catch issues like memory leaks when developing other plugins. VAM's built-in monitor doesn't show heap size but overall memory use, and it's shown at a low 10 MB precision. In Performance Overlay, you can choose the monitored units from KB, MB or GB, and pick the number of de...

Depth physics is the change of soft physics parameter values based on the depth of soft joints relative to the center of the mesh. It'll be available in v1.3. It's similar to Local Distortion Physics in that it requires the multi-directional calibration and probably has a similar performance impact (needs testing).
The previously mentioned breast core rigidity feature is essentially just depth physics for the fat spring parameter. But depth physics is supported on and can be quite usefu...

Hi,
There's an issue with high softness values in TittyMagic where the breast will jitter or shake on its own. This seems to be connected to the joint's rotation limit - when the current angle is near the limit, it's as if the joint isn't sure what value to settle on and just keeps oscillating back and forth. In theory this could happen with VAM's default joint limits as well in some circumstances.
Besides adjusting the limits, it turns out that enabling High Quality Physics neutr...

I started planning and prototyping this side project a few weeks ago, and worked on it properly for the last couple of days. Here's the first alpha (just on Patreon for now, no Hub post yet). This release introduces the spring and damper parameters for hard colliders. Release notes: https://hub.virtamate.com/resources/naturalis.33647/update/55448/

In VAM, every collider in the body has a joint which adds physical characteristics like springs and dampers to the collider. In the video, I show you how adjusting these springs and dampers affects the collision behavior.
The problem with breast hard colliders has been the difficulty of balancing how easily they make the breast move, and how far you can push them before they start to resist and prevent further movement. It seems that by adjusting the springs and dampers, it's possible t...

Hi guys,
I'll be moving some of the features planned for v1.2 into v1.3. Essentially, v1.2 will be a smaller intermediate version. The pressure model and planned morphing improvements are moved to v1.3, and v1.2 will be rounded out with the remaining smaller features.
The internal pressure model, important as it is, will require a lot of work, and the rest of soft physics and the morphing system needs to be adapted to it, so I didn't want to just add it to the plan for v1.2 which ...

A common concept in soft physics simulation is the compensation of volume loss by expanding the soft physics mesh with an internal pressure force.
I made a very simple breast depth calculation based pressure model as a proof of concept. The video shown has no dynamic morphing at all, the change in shape is purely physics based. In the pressure model, I apply a force on each soft physics joint outward from the center of the breast in proportion to the difference in depth relative to the ...

I mentioned earlier that setting up the new collider positions by changing which skin vertex each collider targets would reduce the need to shift their positions with changes to breast size and shape. I thought I might have been too hopeful, but turns out the opposite is true - with the target vertices set up properly, the colliders stay in place very accurately and work out of the box with basically any breast size and shape.
In the video, there is no custom shifting of the collider's ...

Hi,
V1.1 required quite a bit of patching after early access was over. I'm trying to make the v1.2 releases a bit less messy, so I'm avoiding the "alpha" nomenclature entirely this time around. The first release will be a beta. The goal is to only release features that work and to not break existing features accidentally, since fixing those is unnecessary extra work and affects the user experience.
I started development a couple of weeks ago by reducing duplication in the code bas...
