Blog: Making a sprite animation

Hiya!

This week, I'm going to show you how I make sprites for DID Quest (working title). Do note that this should not be considered a tutorial, because I'm far from experienced and there is still a lot I can learn.

Before I even start drawing anything, I have to establish a number of things. I knew the game would be viewed from the top-down, as it was first conceived as a Zelda-style action RPG. However, looking at classic top-down games, the sprites are often too s...

Warmup Wednesday: Siluca, Miku and more!

Hiya! It's time for another Warmup Wednesday!

First up, we have Siluca and Theo from the criminally underrated fantasy show Record of Grancrest War. I did a sketch like this a long time ago, but I wasn't satisfied with it. I think this version is a big improvement.

Then there's Hatsune Miku, who I drew for Miku Day (3/9).

After that I hit a bit of a drawing block. Nothing I could think of for a warmup seemed like it would be fun and easy... I had Claire Redfield on ...

Blog: Sprites 'n Streams

Hiya!

As promised last week, I'm going to talk a bit about the video game I've been making sprites for. It's got the working title "DID Quest" (which will definitely be changed), and it's sort of an action RPG/beat-em-up hybrid. I'm working on it with only a few other people, at least until we really get into the thick of things and maybe require a pinch hitter.

The sprite above is a revi...

Warmup Wednesdays, Chun-Li, Alex, Peach

Hiya!

Since you asked for it, tomorrow's blog will be about the video game sprites I'm making. So for the quickly-becoming-a-tradition warmup sketch post, I decided to do it on Wednesday for that alliteration power. ^.^

This week we have Chun-Li in a straitjacket, Alex from the controversial retro beat-em-up Paprium in a more elaborate version of one of that game's DID scenes and a portable Princess Peach.

The latter was a little difficult because it's an unusual pe...

Another Puyo Puyo damsel! This one is from the newer games, and I can't do that super-stylized stuff, so I drew her more like the way I drew Arle.

The Damsel Yearbook: Makoto Niijima

This month, one of my patrons asked me to draw whoever I liked, as long as I kept them up to date with progress. Thank you very much! ^.^

I decided to draw Makoto from Persona 5, because for quite a while now I've wanted to draw all the Phantom Thieves in a way that they could be combined into one picture. It started when two different patrons happened to ask for Futaba and Kasumi in a really similar predicament and I happened to draw them in such a way that they could be combi...

The Damsel Yearbook: Mash Kyrielight

Sometimes patrons let me go wild with my imagination, while other times they've got a specific idea all worked out in their head. This was a case of the latter, with Mash from the Fate franchise tied to a (version of) her massive shield.

(For the record, I like both ways of doing it! Don't feel self-conscious about how much direction you do or don't give with your requests, I love doing them either way. ^.^)

Blog: Warmup catchup II

Hiya!

Here's another batch of warmup sketches: Djeeta from Granblue Fantasy, Shantae from Shantae and Lara Croft from some obscure series named Tomb Raider. I forgot how much fun it is to just sketch whatever I want. I'll try to remember this time so we can all profit! X3

I've also been working on sprites for the game I'm working on with a few folks. Every Wednesday is a dedicated "sprite day". I'm not really sure how much I should talk about it, given that it's all early days and...

Poll: March Mmphs!

This month's Monthly Damsel poll is just a good old-fashioned "which of these girls is going to get the Rosie treatment" race. No fancy concepts, just one of these girls, tight restraints and a set of gags and blindfolds. 'Cuz sometimes that's all you need!

As always, you can vote for as many options as you like. Happy voting!

Can you believe I've done 100 of these pictures now? To mark the occasion, I wanted to do something iconic, so I went back to one of the great damsels of my youth--who I'd somehow never drawn yet.

Sketch Commission: Ruby Rose

Well, it's not a Yearbook pic, but I've added a conspicuously missing member of the RWBY cast to my portfolio! Sketch commission for genericusername100 on DA.

This is the last of this batch. I don't think I've drawn a full body webbing picture before, and it's pretty fun because it puts so much focus on the curvature of the body. Sure, you don't have to deal with pesky outfit details, but you'...

Crisis at Capsule Corp - Variants

Set of 578 (geez) variants, including gags, blindfolds, an alternate hairstyle, various states of undress and some extra "tech" that the robbers left behind. ;)

Due to the size of this set, it is only available as a 7z archive. If you cannot open it, please download 7-Zip (it's free and open source).

Crisis at Capsule Corp

Uh oh! Looks like some corporate spies broke into Capsule Corp and stole some prototypes while Bulma was alone in a secure testing chamber. They left her tightly bound and gagged, and they made sure she couldn't warn anyone... how long will it be until someone finds her?

Sketch Commission: Mii Kouryuuji

When I offered colored sketches as a commission option, I'd never actually done something like that as a finished product before. The example in the commission info sheet was just one of my drawings but with the sketch version given flat colors. Then when I got a bunch of commissions for this type, I wasn't totally sure what to do, so I had to figure it out on the fly. The commissioner fortunately liked it, but I was still trying to figure things out. ^.^'

Blog: Warmup catchup!

Hiya!

Last week was pretty good for warmup sketches. These were already posted in the Patreon channel on Discord, but here they are again.

I'm also hard at work on the Bulma drawing, but it's pretty elaborate with regards to the background and variants, so I'm a little shy about showing it off before it's finished >.< I might give a sneak peek on Saturday's stream though!

Damsel Yearbook: Carmen Sandiego

I've had my eyes on the classic iteration of Ms. Sandiego for a while (can't resist a villainess getting bound and gagged) but in this case I was asked to do the version of her from the recent Netflix reboot series.

I understand she's a younger, more heroic character in this version, so I tried to reflect that in the drawing--both with her expression and in the way I bound her (though I guess the ballgag belies it a bit, heheh). I think it came out pretty well!

Blog: Random Mio sketch

Hiya!

Sorry this week's blog post is a little late--I had it prepared for yesterday, but Patreon wasn't working for me, so it had to wait until now. There will be another post later today since I was already going to post a Yearbook drawing.

I'm trying to stay in the habit of doing random sketches to keep things fresh for myself. So far I haven't succeeded in doing any more non-bondage stuff though, so here's a naked Mio. :V

Blog: Switching it up

Hiya!

How is February treating you all? For me, it feels like 2021 has just started since I took January off from Patreon, but I'm guessing it's a lot less exciting for everyone else.

I'm always trying to find new ways to build and maintain a routine while keeping things fresh,  so that hopefully I won't have to take any more big breaks like that. One new idea is shown above--some (gasp!) non-bondage art! Bondage can start to feel too much like a job sometimes, and I do want ...
