AEGIS MODERN 0.5 for SRP 0.9.3 PTB2 (HOTFIX 19.17.2024)

Deployed hotfix: I forgot to remove something from the config, and the 0.5 version had issues with road joints, noticeable online and in traffic planner. I suggest updating.

First thing first, no red roads aren't ready yet. This is mostly just me verifying that most things work ok, coupled with a few changes. Shout out to Hiro of Studio55 for the help and feedback on some issues older skins have had.

What about that SRP skin? A bit of news.

I imagine most of you know who's behind the definitive modern SRP reskin. (It's me in case there was any confusion). The current status of the skin is messy and complicated. There are several versions floating around, no official SRP 0.9.1 support and some confusion about 0.9.2 PTB2 and 0.9.3 PTB1 differences. And that's on me. The many advancements of C13 AEGIS 1.72

This took a lot of learning, ngl. What started as a what if experiment has become a feature i use almost all the time while driving. Speed DOF like we first witnessed in NFS Shift is now available with C13 AEGIS. A simple toggle in pure config, with optional settings for minimum and maximum speed of the effect, crash effect intensity and intensity of the blur.

Snow, coming to LA Canyons near you.

I've had this out in the Discord for a while, but not everyone wants to rummage through so many communities just to get a single mod, so a Patreon post seems like the reasonable thing to do. This is a fantasy reskin of LAC, that brings bare trees and snow to our favourite canyons free roam. Supports all layouts, is kinda janky with "SnowFX" (tried using grassfx differently), do let me know if you find any issues. But most of all, have fun!

C13 AEGIS 1.56 - Dashcam mode, filmic mapping

A few more fixes and updates and gimmicks.
This isn't the massive update that 1.54 was but it does bring two new notable features: Dashcam mode, and a filmic tonemapping adjustment. The first modifies colors and activates lens distortion for some cool visual effects, while the new filmic mode re-introduces the milky black look at high exposure levels. Both are optional. With this, i think we're ready-ish for public release, pending any issues found.

So, um. Yeah. This is my bad, i hadn't done enough testing on the public CSP 0.2 and Pure 0.222 versions, and a few edge cases of super weird and unflattering reflections, were discovered, particularly on SRP tunnels. And a filter with AEGIS in it's name cannot look bad on SRP. Gunsai Touge C13 Refresh 0.5: Introducing WINTER

Quite a few things have changed from 0.4 to 0.5. Let's start with the boring stuff first:

  • Reverted roadside shrubs to base, but cleaned up alpha a bit and ressed up the texture since it's shared with some other trees as well.
  • Reverted front panel of metal shack beyond T2 to stock. You're never very close to that, and the intense shadowing of the original texture reads much better at a distance.

C13 AEGIS 1.47 with Pure 0.222 support

The changelog on this isn't tiny but here's the big kicker: Well handled sun blinding with Pure 0.222.
Other changes include, but are not limited to:

  • Adjusted Warm Filmic preset
  • Reworked C13 tone mapping curve for better low end clarity
