So, with a lot of sudden free time on my hand, I decided to make something for my very new disciple, Xi Zhao.

Namely, I decided to dabble a bit in the Weapon Arts, as I haven't created a single one yet. At the same time, I also decided to splurge and make a movement art. All else aside, the most important thing in the world is surviving--I'd a...

Regional Map v2

Hello everyone, hope you're having a great day ^^
A quick question: which style of the map do you prefer? The simpler one or a height-map based one?
I'd been playing around in Gaea2 the past few days & decided to quickly sketch out a simple height map for the Innominate Edge region, plug it in, fiddle around a bit, and see whether you'd be interested in me refining the map a bit further + adding locations, or if you'd just prefer a simpler, down-to-business style.

Desolate Cliffs truly lived up to their name, Long Tao mused ever so briefly.

Jagged rock arose in conjoined spires, jutting out against the flats beneath it. It was a rather sharp and brutal change of terrain, one without any prior indications. Which meant that it likely wasn't wholly natural.

Long Tao himself had a hand in cr...

Chapter 61 - A Little Respite

"I'll think about it," those were Elder Qin's parting words as he left, rather grim-faced, leaving me wondering whether I'd made the right decision.

It was one thing to fight for my disciples but, technically speaking, that girl wasn't actually a disciple--she was a burden, no, wait, she's a guest. Yes, a guest. Big distinction there.

And she was a planted guest at that, the Sect Master's thinly-veiled attempt to figure out what the hell is happening on the Lones...

Chapter 60 - Songs of Prelude (III)

It truly ended with the proclamation that the cauldron exploded.

Look, I may be a bit stupid, and I may not have a working knowledge of this world, but I know for a fact that wasn't a cauldron exploding. Not unless you think Elder Zhang was a cauldron. And even if the man carried a bit of a belly, it wasn't--look, the point is, the sect was hiding what transpired.

Why?

The first clue came the day later, when the Declaration of War was officially sent out to the Fire Sun Sec...

Chapter 59 - Songs of Prelude (II)

Elder Zhang carefully unfurled the small parchment that was tied to a Firebird. It was eight familiar symbols that he memorized before burning the paper and killing the bird, swallowing its corpse in one go and processing it into small bits of Fire Qi.

He carefully looked around before sighing and retreating toward the Verdant Arch Peak. These past few days, he'd experienced a gnawing feeling in his chest any time he went out to receive instructions. It was a familiar feeling, the one h...

"I lost again," Elder Qin sighed, his eyebrows pressed together in thought as to how he lost so quickly.

I'll give you an answer--he sucks. Oh my God, he sucks so bad. He's worse than the kids I used to play back in elementary school! I mean, fine, maybe the chess theory isn't as developed in this world as it was back on Earth (I do not question how we happen to have the same game; I feel it is better for my sanity), but geez-Louise, it has to be better than t...

Everyone slowly emerged from wherever they were hiding, joining me as the audience. Dai Xiu seemed a bit concerned, but others... yeah, they were here just for a good show.

"When you're plundering his treasury," Long Tao chimed in from the side. "Look and see if he has Silver-Tipped Viper's glands."

"Sure. Anything else?"

"Maybe a bit--"

"--I was being sarcastic."

"Tsk."

Ignoring the click of the tongue, the strange look on Light's face, Hua's barely-vei...

The man who so boldly called me out stood centered at the peak, facing the entrance of my house, escorted by a pair of mean-mugging kids. His face was... vaguely familiar--no, wait, isn't that the guy who contradicted Elder Qin and spoke up for wartime efforts?

... hey, why the hell are you here, man?

"E-eh? Elder Zhang...?" XI Zhao's voice jostled a distant memory, though it took me a moment to capture its exact location--Elder Zhang... Xi Zhao's former Master.

Oh.

Calm returned once more to Lonesome Peak.

I'm actually considering the name change as it could hardly be called 'Lonesome' anymore. I mean, yeah, compared to other peaks it still is, but there's 6 of us now, which is enough to start a cult!

... I mean, I won't. But I could. But I won't. Well, it's really I couldn't.

Long Tao locked himself up in his room, seemingly struggling to comprehend the art.

Elder Qin delivered a first batch of cultivation re...

--so, that cloaking art.

As soon as Elder Qin left, I retired into my bedroom yet again, setting shot atop the demonstrably uncomfortable bed (I swear, I will have to revolutionize the industry of comfort in this world, even if it be the last thing I do).

Once again I found myself somewhat overwhelmed with the massive screen of choices, all floating over there mindlessly. I'd wondered more than once the nature of the System--not necessarily who created it or even who gave...

Chapter 52 - Declaration of War (II)

The wind turned oddly cold as I stepped out of the hall and into the open.

The thin branches of the nearby trees bent and swayed, lulled by the invisible force. And I... I felt a bit choked.

Naturally, I wasn't going to participate in the war--even if most of these guys here would want to see me humiliated, it wasn't to the point they'd threaten the sect's security for it.

At the same time, I wasn't actually nearly as worried as most of them; if it was true that ...

Alarm bells rang at the crack of around 4 P.M.

It was my first time hearing them but Lu Qi's memories did have a few instances of them ringing. They were remarkably loud, almost as loud as those city-wide sirens that would warn of impending doom or such things, and they lasted a whole ten minutes.

Me?

Well, I just stayed in place, wondering what kind of cloaking art should I make for Long Tao, and what other arts I could make with now 350 Creation...

Hmm.

Allow me a moment to catch you up, and explain why there is currently a boy bending halfway to the ground in front of him, arms like arrows pinned to his sides, wind gently billowing his robes.

Ah, home sweet home!

It still looks like someone sneezed it out of a pus-filled putrid nostril, but it's the only one I've got. It was well past the evening by the time we returned as I actually took the pair on a bit of a stroll and even to the sect's restaurant where we somehow managed to spend 100 low-quality Spirit Stones.

In fairness, half of that was spent packing two meals for Hua and Light. Me? Heh. I don't count the stones I spend on me. Never.

Long Tao left after about six seconds give or take, his tiny frame appearing as I exhaled in relief.

He crossed over the bridge, seeming as apathetic as ever--

Son of a bitch, he broke through!

This guy actually broke through!

I made it a habit to use Creator's Eyes on him at least once a day (as it does not cost a 'charge' when I use it on my disciples) and, yup, right there where it used to say 'Twelfth Stage of Qi Condensation', it now said 'First Stage of Foundat...

He'd seen many things in his life before, so he knew perfectly what the thing in front of him his--it was actually kind of funny, in a way.

This was an array... that he set up.

He'd completely even forgotten about it as he set it up after he broke through to the Sovereign Realm. At the time, he was helped by a small d...

Yeah. I am apparently quite preemptive about things, as I should have saved all my seething, all my jealousy, and all my bitterness for this very moment.

Because, by God, I can't put into words just how beautiful this place is.

A new dawn came and with it a new visitor--Spirit Sage's servant here to whisk away the pair of my disciples for one of their awards: Antechamber.

Back when I proposed the bet to Elder Qin and asked for the Antechamber specifically to be one of the rewards, I didn't really know anything about it. I mean, I still don't, but I didn't back then, either.

All I know is that it's some sort of a hollowed place of cultivation that's occasionally been offered as a reward in the sect for ...

Light, or whatever her name is, wasn't much of a talker.

She wasn't much of an anything really; for the remainder of the day, she stayed in the corner, whipping books out one after another (she got that fancy spatial ring, the brat!), and just reading them in silence.

Dai Xiu tried to strike up a conversation only to be met with, well, silence. The three-foot-long devil didn't even 'ignore' her, it was more that she seemed to exist in a different reality, one div...
