After some input from uni peers, I wanted to retry the piece to give more of a central focus to the characters.
We see them "coming out" of the tunnel, breaking chains, and that defiant optimism that the Sun tarot has.

So I was chatting with my bf and he and I got to talking about what we'd look like as final-evolution Pokemon in a Mystery Dungeon setting.
He settled on a handsome Hisuian Typhlosion mage-archetype with accessories to help his ghostly magicks and hexes.
I went for a chonky Chesnaught that'd function like a big soft paladin with a float stone to keep his big bod light and ready for action.
It's nice to draw fun stuff amidst the uni projects!

Pride Parade! Queer pride is year-round, baby!
The Revelry most directly references the Sun in the idea of celebration, unabashed joy and optimism - reframed in the face of a world that doesn't always show kindness to those who are outside of the narrow norms.

The Revolt was based more directly on The Tower in its themes of upheaval and reinterpreting the catastrophe and sudden change as a more revolutionary and radical action upon ineffective/obsolete systems.
The scene itself is based on the Manitoba Legislative Building and the context of Winnipeg being in sore need of better care and action for its people than what governments currently do....

It finally all came together into a fun design for a fursona!
I think I might be bold and decide to change my icon with this festive addition, since it could ring in the new year quite nicely.
Figuring the stars and constellations into the design took some doing but I think it worked out for a neat effect in the end. Very celestial fey.

Getting close to finishing these up and having them printed for my university's senior project!
Each of the cards is to have interactions with characters' personal struggles/triumphs with some blending between the themes of the story and similar themes in real-life (queerness and visibility, strength and vulnerability, etc)
I hope you all have enjoyed seeing these progress as I've enjoyed making them better and better!

So here's a new series I've been working on for a school project!
The premise is to take the archetypes of tarot cards, my own characters and interlace them with real-life influences of urban architecture and settings.
This first one draws inspiration from The Strength card and the Sword suit in the minor arcana, giving a sort of closure/assistance in relieving the burden that is carried.
