Patreon wants me to inform you about some changes concerning sales taxes. This might affect some of you (I think it is mainly for people living in the US).
Hi everyone,
I wanted to give you an update on some changes that we’ll be seeing which may affect some of your pledges. Due to new laws passing in several countries and US states, Patreon will be required to start charging sales tax on some pledges starting July 1st.
Less than half of all pa...

People are asking me why my solo playing sounds so different compared to other metal guitar players. I think it is because I have a different musical background, which consists of many different genres.
Here are some altered licks I'm working on this week to integrating them in my playing. Even though I call them "altered licks" I use them for any melodic minor mode.
Have fun!
Btw: New playthrough videos are on the way! I'm trying to feed my YouTube channel with new vi...

Hey guys, I want to share this transcription I did a while ago.
The tune is called "Swunk" by Mike Stern and the solo is played by Michael Brecker, one of my favourite improvisers.
The solo starts at 4:54 on the studio recording

I did this with one of my students a while ago. A good way to get more comfortable with changing the strings while alternate picking is the exercise in the attachment.
I basically use the 3-note-per-string scale and play 16th notes in 6ths. Try to focus on the little parts and string changes which are hard to do for you personally.
It makes sense to practice that in many different ways, so feel free to do the same exercise with other scales and other intervals as well!...

If you are into reharmonization, I want to show you what I did on my last Instagram Post.
I took the 12-bar Jazz Blues form and changed some things. Let me know if you could analyze it or if you would be interested in some harmony lessons.

Hey guys,
I wrote down all 3-Note-per-String positions. You should practice them using alternate picking as well as economy picking if you haven't yet.
If that's easy for you: Do the same thing for harmonic and melodic minor and in all keys (there are more than 12, at least on the paper, think about that). If you have that down, you can play all modes (except for symmetrical scales) that exists (theoretically).
Happy Easter! :)
