Nothing could have prepared me for this... I didn't expect the story to take this direction so quickly, not only killing off several major characters but also putting Vi and Powder on opposite sides. While I obviously don't see myself ever rooting for Silco, I did appreciate his fleshed out backstory, showing how an understandable feeling of betrayal led him on this destructive path.

I got some heavy Attack on Titan vibes from this episode... Not only was Panda's backstory incredibly endearing, but hearing Mechamaru explain his unfortunate situation reminded me how you can never truly judge someone without knowing their full story.

It's super interesting to see even Okarin starting to worry more, realizing that his time travel experiments are affecting variables completely outside of his control. I also really wonder what Mayuri meant when she said it feels like Okarin is leaving her with every bit of progression he makes!

Steins;Gate 1x08 Reaction "Chaos Theory Homeostasis I"
I definitely had a harder time making sense of some of the events in this episode. Strange changes occured after the experiment with Moeka, where she no longer showed up and Ruka decided to hold herself back from entering the room. Meanwhile, the new experiment to turn Ruka into a girl gave us no results because Okarin (understandably) has no way to check whether they succeeded yet hahaha.

For as dark as it is to have a group chase Yuji to try and kill him, this was a super fun episode to watch. Todo is such a hilarious character, and I'm happy for him he's finally found his best friendo.

Steins;Gate 1x07 Reaction "Divergence Singularity"
Our first true time travel experiment is here! While Okarin succeeded in altering the past, it's surely curious how many unexpected angles came along with it. Him not losing any memories unlike his team, the winning number being off by one (which could just be human error by Ruka). And what remains up with the empty version of the world Okarin keeps finding himself in where he still hears Mayuri's voice? I'm loving how much of a puzzle Steins;Gate remains!

Slowly but surely we're making progress, now realizing some of the limits we're dealing with in the D-Mail experiments. I do really wonder what the purpose was of that random scene near the end, showing Okarin flying through time and space and seemingly being taked to by Makise Kurisu. The mystery never ends, that's for sure.
