Behind The Scenes: Guitar Store

Inspiration is everywhere! And most of all, it comes unexpected. I have a long list of stores I want to create for the series and it never occurred to me to make a guitar store. This year, I've decided to return to one of my life long passions - guitar playing. After my transition to full time 3D illustrator, I was able to find some time and it immediately start...

Behind The Scenes: Jurassic Park

I've shared my sentiment about Jurassic Park many times and it still stands. For me, it's one of the best movies ever made (not counting the rest of the franchise) and I especially enjoyed art direction behind every detail like the overall park branding, vehicles and architecture. It just works!

Also, I got many requests from people trying to get better at their 3d ...

Guitar Store

Welcome to boutique guitar store. The place, where you come to have a coffee and try the 70's gold top Les Paul without any rush while the rain on the window gives you beat to play along.

Would you like to visit a store like this?

Back to the roots and flat shading with some mellow windmill diorama. I'm all out of lighthouses and spooky houses, any more ideas? :)

Jurassic Park

One of the best made movies of all time. Period. And don't get me started about how I love the look of 90's Explorer SUV and its paintjob. So while playing with Substance Painter and Botaniq addon, I went back and recreated one of my favorite movie scenes of all time.

What else would you like to see made this way?

Behind The Scenes: Hackerman

I really wanted to come up with new cool character this week and challenge myself a bit, so I don't reuse any body topology I've already created. Some of my characters are based on pop culture, some are archetypes, like scientist or explorer.

I've looked into my notes and came across one of my favorite indie short movies of all times - 2021-01-13 12:52:53 +0000 UTC View Post

Behind The Scenes: Orbital Station Room

I have to admit it was really hard to come up with a new artwork for the first post of 2021. I think it's the pressure of new year's, that you suddenly feel the urge to come up with something meaningful, be better than before and do something different.

After a bit of thinking, I decided to discard all of these feelings and just closed my eyes and thought abo...

Enchanted Forest

I wanted to remake one of my older designs, so I took the Enchanted Forest scene and gave it some Substance treatment.

What do you think? Flat shading or stylized textures?

Orbital Room

For a first work of 2021, I've decided to create a calm place to read and learn. Situated on a high orbit of course :)

Happy New Year everyone!

Behind The Scenes: Scientist's Lair

I went back and searched through my older works and found out that the 80's hacker's room and witch's lair are among the most popular things I have done. They have a very similar style and stylization and it kind of ends there, so I wanted to continue the series. So what is the common denominator here and what should be next?

Both were rooms, but I made a lot...

Behind The Scenes: Christmas Hearth

This one is again pretty straightforward. I wanted to do the final (almost;) ) Xmas illustration and if I look back at my portfolio, it's only appropriate to create a cozy room with a tree, decorations and subtle lighting.

Even if an idea like that pops into your head, it would look easy to jump right into Blender and start working only to be left staring at ...

Scientist Lair

As the end of the rollercoaster of 2020 is near, I wanted to go a bit back to the roots and create a simple, yet colorful diorama.

It's a cozy place to tinker and build doomsday device.

Christmas Hearth

The Christmas week is here and after a quick visit to isometric gift shop, we should be ready to put up our feet and enjoy a hot coffee with cookies in front of the hearth.

I wish you all Happy Holidays :)

Behind The Scenes: Mandalorian vs. Ahsoka

I'm really big fan of Star Wars and I already made a lot of SW related illustrations. You can check out all of my Star Wars low poly artworks on Behance.

When I started to write these breakdowns, the main goal was to show you, where the idea begin and where I ...

Mandalorian vs. Ashoka

I've finally got up to speed with Season 2 finally, so I thought it would be great to use low poly characters again and recreate a cinematic scene.

Are there any character scenes you would like to see made this way? :)

Cyberpunk London

Cyberpunk is almost here and I really wanted to do another low poly tribute :)

There were a lot of requests for a new tutorial series and I have a little surprise for you. This week will be a little bit different and instead of a time lapse process tomorrow, you will get a full commentary tutorial series on Thursday, all made possible by NVIDIA and Scan Computers.

So stay tuned for the Thursday update and lets cyberpunk the London! :)

Behind The Scenes: Gift Shop Illustration

Christmas is almost here, so I thought it's a great time to create some Xmas themed artwork. And it's been some time, since I did a stylized shop illustration so I felt it's agreat opportunity to practice some decorations.

Last year, I did a bit more traditional toy workshop illustration and tried to incorporate more traditional colors like red and green, but...

Behind The Scenes: Dieselpunk Illustration

Sometimes, when you don't feel like looking into new inspiration, you can always revisit your older scenes and see, if there's something that can be developed further. I did this several times with my original Cloud 66 series (that served as a base for Episode 4 in the course), and created more artworks, that fit into the world and style. Behind The Scenes: Sopranos Illustration

I like to re-watch some of my favorite TV shows from time to time. Even though some pretty serious and popular shows came in the recent years, there still is one for me, that rules them all. It's the ultimate crime family TV show - Sopranos. It's so brilliantly written and clever, that if you didn't see it yet, you need to watch it right now :)

This time, I returned...

Yes, it's that time of year :D Let's open up a season with a little gift shop diorama. I tried to incorporate really subtle decorations without the traditional green and red.

It's been some time since my Cloud 66 series and I wanted to continue with the diesel punk theme. The police station with some Plymouth Coupe sheriff's vehicle looked like a pretty good candidate.

Behind The Scenes: Iron Man's Garage

As you maybe know I like to do a movie and pop culture inspired artworks. Partly it's because I have always enjoyed recreating my favorite movie stuff even as a kid. But to be completely honest, partly it's because it can attract more attention on the social media as well and bring more people to your portfolio. But there is a difference in the mere copying of something and creating unique artwork that takes the theme and brings a fresh perspective.

Iron Man's Garage

I loved the look of the Stark's garage in the first Iron Man movie so I set myself to recreate it. Of course, it needed a hefty reduction to fit into small room diorama while I wanted to capture the most iconic things, like hot rod and robot hands.

Behind The Scenes: Barber Shop Illustration

It's been a while since the last isometric room composition and the list has grown quite a lot from all the comment suggestions. Yes, I have them all somewhere :) I've picked up barber shop idea, because it offered a room for growth and few things I wanted to try out.

I kind of have two room styles I do, and I really love the more stylized cartoony one...

Barber Shop

I wanted to do another stylized room project and I had a barber shop in my list for some time. I think it was a suggestions from a follower, so if you're reading this, thank you! :) I wrestled a little bit with a balance of stylization and realism and I had to tweak proportions quite a lot.

Behind The Scenes: Isabella 3D Character

Time for a new character! I really love, when I find some time to create a new character, as it's a bit more time consuming than my usual work. After the Clementine, I wanted to do a new female model, because with Clementine I felt a bit all over the place. Like I couldn't decide if she's a cartoon, or just stylized character. So this time, I went for really cartoon design from the start.
