Let's continue the world city series with a new one from Tokyo. I always avoid landmarks and try to capture a side alley atmosphere with iconic vehicle. This time, I picked a 70's Honda Civic.
Do you agree?

Imagine you got briefed by a potential client from gaming industry to create a game themed illustration for a website. The illustration should include multiple games and should be recognizable at a first glance as a gaming motive.
That's how I approached this week's project and got to work. Briefs can differ and they can be really specific, or leave a lot of room fo...

Time for another web friendly illustration, this time in the spirit of cult games and gaming in general. There are actually several games hidden in this composition.
Can you guess them all? :)

If there's something I don't like, it's the real world getting in way of getting stuff done. I just love, when I can sit down to work in the morning and get in the flow for the rest of the day to work on some new piece. But then the world comes knocking on the door and the flow is gone.
I had to go change sparkplugs in my car recently and I hate to ...

I've set out to create a cozy semi-realistic retro car dealership and there is one brand I have a soft spot for. Yes, it's a turbulent relationship, but everything good is worth fighting for. Cuore Sportivo.
What's your favorite car?

I always get a lot of questions, where my ideas come from. It's quite easy. The essential thing is to observe and consume other content and create bucket lists of what you like and want to tackle. After that, it's always about picking the theme you feel like doing.
This time, I really wanted to create a very stylized, almost cartoonish house with exaggerated proport...

I've started working on my latest piece the same as always. Checked the list, picked some candidates and thought about what felt best in the moment. As I was pondering about few ideas, my wife casually walked past and peeked over my shoulder.
"Why don't you make summer beach? You don't have anything like that this year yet."
And there i...

The secrets of the universe lie above the stars, beneath the ancient runes and occasionally in the wine cellar. I've took a cartoon stylized approach combined with realistic textures to try something different. Do you like fantasy themes like this?

Even though we're slowly getting to the shorter side of summer, I still get a lot of out of office replies, so I thought I'll enjoy some of that vibe too. At least in Blender :) What's your fav holiday destination?

This week, I wanted to show you more practical approach to 3D illustration. I always get a lot of inquires on how the skills I show can be applied in the real world. There are many websites and brands, that choose to use 3D illustration as their expression and communication tool and all of this work is handled by 3D illustrators.
Since I'm focusing mostly on educati...

Although I still preach about being consistent both in online presence and in style, I'm guilty of straying away occasionally and wanting to try something new. If I see some eye candy, I definitely want to try that.
And there's nothing wrong with that, if you feel the same. To develop a style a consistency in your work, you first need to try a lot of diff...

I wanted to mix things up this week by creating a fantasy floating island and use some abstract textures to try a new style. I especially enjoyed creating stylized smoke and clouds using only curves.
What else would you like to see made this way?

If you want create something, that leaves an impact on your audience, you need to deliver some kind of emotion, that can connect with person. One of the strongest form of emotion is nostalgia. It's a bittersweet feeling you get, when browsing through your old camera roll, trying to grasp those moments, that are forever gone.
It may sound calculated, but if you can f...

Let me take you on a trip to the recent past, where pixels were large, computers beige and synths and guitars played in unison, while you grinded your way through Zelda and slain Orcs in the original Warcraft.
What retro game would you play right now?

This week I went back to my list and just picked a theme. Vikings were sitting there for quite some time and I was in a mood for another room design.
I've thought about the best way to approach it, and this image of a long hall with fireplace in the middle, surrounded with tables, immediately popped into my head. From the experience, I knew I was in a bit of a troub...

I stumbled upon Amazon's Clarkson's Farm TV show recently and I gave it a go. Seeing Top Gear veteran strolling around in heavy farm machinery? Anytime. What a surprise it was and apparently, I'm into farming now :D Here's a little tribute render.
Did you watch the show?

This week I picked out another one of my all time favorite childhood movies to do a tribute design. I watched Karate Kid a lot in my days and couldn't be happier to see a sequel in form of a new TV show Cobra Kai.

I'm doing new scenes every week for some time now and I never struggled that much for inspiration. Not that I don't have bleak moments. There are times, that you simply don't have anything that exciting you want to make. No next big thing, that would help you push yourself to another level.
I learned to embrace this. So there are no big ideas waiting for you and you...
