I feel like the Switch has gone through an extremely radical renaissance in my household over the past year. Part of that is the growing games library, sure. But I think an even bigger part is that my two boys are approaching the ages where they can both watch and play more games. And in looking at games that are appropriate for their ages in both content and mechanics, Nintendo just tends to have a massive advantage.

After playing BotW, I probably didn't touch my Switch more than once...

Breakpoint is not quite what I was hoping it would be. Don't get me wrong, I love me some good military porn, and the Tom Clancy games usually deliver regardless. But I'd been hoping Breakpoint would veer a little more tactical/realistic like the old Ghost Recon games, and instead it went the other way. More arcadey with a dash of RPG.

Nevertheless, as much as I enjoy these types of games, I also always feel a little weird when I play them. I like playing as the elite soldi...

As a side effect of my job, I mostly try to play games when they're new, topical, popular. But, like any game, I have a backlog. Games that I have to simply let slide past because there's too much on my plate, or that I simply missed.

Occassionally, I carve out a little time for those, but it's always feels really weird for me; like I'm experiencing something in a temporal vortex. I look around like "Oh shit, did you see this cool thing the game did and--" and yeah... they saw it. Year...

Unfortunately, my wallpaper for this month that I had already penciled and inked was a casualty of my lost hard drivesthe data loss I experienced this month. I didn't have the time or the stomach to start over from scratch on it, so I went a different direction and drew something just for fun.
