Asset Glowup

A walk-able demo is on the way soon, and one critical part of that has been creating standalone assets for all of the items scattered around the map. The old map was basically just a rough house layout with furniture like beds and desks doodled in. 

The new map is keeping the same layout (and much of the same visual style), but all of the assets are getting a fresh coat of paint. The car (did you know it was even suppose to be a car?) in particular got a lot of love.

Huuuuge... Tracts of Land!

In the big gif update (haven't read through it yet? Check it out here!) I mentioned that our main character has a pair of physics enabled boobs. Here's a closer look at what that looks like!

The character's torso is set up to follow the mouse cursor as it moves around, and her boobs react to that torso movement. Live2D makes it simple to tune the actual physics parameters, so I'll be able to tweak the jiggle physics until they're just right. I can also alter those physics input...

Character Rigging Progress!

I've finished rigging up all of the base characters for A Very Full House! That means they're all set up for motion in the same way as the main character is in the demo. I'll have a demo .gif of that up in the next few days to show how much life that breathes into the visuals of the game.

Art Practice!

This whole project started when I wanted to learn how to draw, and soon discovered it's far more fun to draw naked girls than pretty much anything else. Practice makes perfect, so in addition to the art I'm making explicitly for A Very Full House I also sometimes do quicker sketches and pose studies using the characters from the game. A Very Full House of Tech!

There are a bunch of tools that are going into making A Very Full House, here's a quick rundown of some of the major ones and what part of my workflow they are used for:

Next Up on the Docket: Character Rigging!

The A Very Full House FAQ is live, so it's time to get to work making a full game! The first thing I'm going to be working on is getting all of the existing characters rigged up for movement. That means taking their art into Live2D and defining how different parts react to different parameter values like xRotation, BoobBounce, or whatever. Once the characters are all rigged I can define different facial expressions, animations, and clothing sets for them.

Did you know that in the playable FAQ our lovely main character is clickable in a couple of interesting places?
