Refit officially finished

Yesterday evening we said farewell to all the people from the boatyard, the Marina, the sailors pub and everyone who was involved in this project. Since Benjamin is the joy for many people it was quite emotional.

After a Raki with the boatyard owner we officially ended the refit. We shared some sailors stories and talked about the Atlantic crossing, his boat is now in Panama and he will start sailing her back to Turkey from March. This morning we had some small hick ups, we had to wait ...

Is it real? Sea trial after 14 months of refit.

The furler is working!!!! Yesterday it was blowing 42 knots of wind and it seems it will be less this afternoon. So...... SEA TRIAL!!!

Final stage of the Refit is there, we started saying farewell so some beautiful people we can call friends now. The furler is showing problems and can’t be fixed today. Quite an essential part of our sailing boat 🤣 It looks like the engine is burned by heavy load. It will be send to a specialist in Izmir, fingers crossed that they can fix it! Still wondering how this happened since the last time we used it 😅

Wednesday Sea trial

Finally finally finally! We are almost ready for our sea trial. This Wednesday we will start the engine, drop the lines, hoist the sails, check, double check and check everything again to be sure everything is running fine and working so we can finally start our circumnavigation.

What a week, it was definitely not smooth sailing 😂 but luckily we had big support from Pim, the professional captain who will drive Lilly back to the Netherlands. He learned us so many things and professional shipping is definitely not yachting.

Road Trip CAPPADOCIA Hidden Gem- Se. 1 Ep.28

Being a quartermaster was always my second nature but this one was totally unexpected. I found a real hidden gem in one of the valleys in Cappadocia and we created an amazing opportunity as a family.

Sailboat project - TEAK DECK & road trip Istanbul Se.1 Ep.22
